Good point, I agree

I'll let you off the XV olive oil then
I make mostly my own curry/tomato/sweet & sour sauces, but do cheat and buy "Seeds of Change" organic red pepper sauce which is as healthy as you will get out of a jar
Do yourself and your heart a favour when you finish Atkins and substitute coconut milk for the cream in curry

Looks to me that you lot are spinning Atkins towards a low fat high protein diet - that seems to make much more sense to me.
Very bizzarre in the prog the way that cholesterol came down when on a high saturated animal fats diet - its like black magic!
Also all your talk of creamy kormas, but no rice or naan??? You surely cant have a Korma with an aubergine instead of rice!!!

I discovered when shopping that the curry sauces in jars are laden with sugar & carbs (why!).

And unnecessary added salt
The purveyors of convenience/processed foods have done much to worsen the health of people in this country, but I guess it is just meeting a demand.
However, the award for the worst single corporation on the planet for potentially ruining people's health must be Monsanto - systematically trying to poison the lot of us with agrochemicals or GM foods, and making lots of money in the process

Totally agree on processed food.
Getting our breadmaker last year helped to ditch another product laden with unnecessary additives. Not bought a loaf of bread since summer, and the loaves I make are far tastier (though perhaps don't last as long due to no preservatives).
Water, flour, yeast, pinch of salt, pinch of sugar and that's it.
Of course, only make them for the wife while I do the Atkins....
I do find myself hugely more conscious of additives now. Much prefer the fun & satisfaction of trying to replicate the processed foods using natural stuff anyway - like Muffins, or a curry, or soup etc etc.
