Just glad to hear your ok mate.
A friend of mine was carjacked on Staurday night at knife point in Ramsbottom,(four of the Barstewards) took his Subaru.
I used to have an 02/STI but her in doors was **** scared of someone doing this so we got rid, like you say its only a peice of metal at the end of the day and nobody's life is worth that.
Hope you have better luck with your next car.

The main thing is you're ok m8 but really sad to hear your news, hope they get the *******. It's a bit worrying when it happens on your own doorstep - remind me not to stop anywhere in Nottingham!
Getting more like South Africa here everyday

What an awful thing to happen. No car is worth your life, but try not to let the actions of a bunch of thugs mean that you have to give up things that you love.

I am keen not to let their actions totally take away the pleasure of performance cars for me, but I just don't think the rally specials are safe anywhere now. You can be as careful as you like, but look at some of the stories on here - these cars seem to be A1 priority for thieves and they'll stop at nothing to get them.

I might go the two car route if I can arrange things so it's no more expensive to run than the Evo on its own (shouldn't be hard - tell me, do cars exist that are more expensive to run!?) Only problem is, what on earth can I get that's affordable (i.e. less than the £16.5k paid for the Evo so I have spare cash for the second car) but as fast as the VI (and isn't one of the aforementioned desirable rally cars)?

Thumbs up

As suggested, 2/h recent WRX 5-door PPP it if you want the edge!

You have my sympathy - kind of know how you feel (see my thread http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=296638 and you will see why)

Apologies to the nice people but why is there so much scum in Notts?

Mak.

Lockwood77, I share your experince and feeling and your surname, Got car jacked in manchester 2 years ago, thought to myself was lucky to get away with that, as I was OK and they didn't get my Scoob, then 5 months ago, house got broken in to and the Scoob was gone, Scoob is still at the dealers being fixed. Loved the car, can't be a**ed with the hastle of owning a perfomance car anymore.

At least your in one peace mate, could have been so much worse.

Good luck with sale.

Cheers

Really miffed to hear this

To echo the others.. very pleased that you are still with us.. and sorry to hear of this.. must be very scary.

Easy for me to say, but try not to let them ruin your enjoyment of nice cars.

We lost our EVO too.. later a star of three armed robberies.

Take care m8

Cheers

Angry

I echo all the sentiments above. Glad you were not hurt over a bit of rubber and steel. Like cheesecutter I too live in a low crime country but I was talking to a copper back home in Australia over christmas and he said this type of thing is on the rise there as well, to the point that in the latest hot 4's magazine they have an article about how to protect yourself from it, basically sell the car or dont drive it...

There has to be a way to combat this but what? Surely with the combined might of Scoobynet someone can think of something to help protect ourselves from this type of scum??

"I am even more sorry that england has really become such an untrustworthy place to live."

Says it all and it will get worse until the Government stops taking the easy way out by targeting motorists etc and tackles TRUE criminals.

A miserable experience, glad to hear you're ok though mate.
Would be a shame if it puts you off owning a nice car but I can see how it would.
Take it easy mate
