Mad Grip.
first of all I assume that the installer is the pevious owner of our company who albeit has DEI account is not a registered dealer.
Having said that can I put us down for 5 installs s we can sell them all week at £200, thats nice profit for us for doing SFA.
BTW tell him 'Lamb Chop'has left a present for him at our place if he wants to call for it

Martin,
I dont know you & I have taken this deal with the installer personally and nothing to do with your company.
This isnt a venture gain on my part and will not be making any profit or neither will I pass on this deal to other companies.
This is organised as a private group buy and in no way associated with your company, which incidentaly I phoned for a price but you weren't that interested
If it is indeed the same person who used to own your company and you wish to contact him, I'm sure you have the means to do so.
Please dont post on this thread again as it is only intended for people wishing to enquire or join the group buy
I hope you dont take this the wrong way.
regards
Phil

I know someone who knew someone who bought a business off someone because he had had enough of running a business on his own and dealing with customers etc ,he sold it to two guys who trusted his word on what he said he was going to do and that was leave the industry for pastures new .Now the two guys running the business worked hard maintaining the customer base this guy had established and upheld the good name that they had bought. Now these two guys knew that in business you have to compete hard for sales sometimes but would never **** product out just to make a sale as the previous owner also followed this plan,he would rather fit extras than cut his prices.Just recently these two guys quoted on fitting some product for scooby members for 169 quid but didnt get the sale the reason was the guy who had sold them the business had gone against there gentlemans agreement and under cut them. Now this guy who was well respected and liked by these two could do such a under hand thing. He's not evan a clifford dealer any more and also (in his words)how can any body fit clifford product properly on someones drive way.I hope you guys don't have the misfortune of using someone like this who would take your money and run ,because his word aint worth sh*t.

As previously said . I am not 100% sure this is the same person & I'm definately not interested in sour grapes. Maximum impact had their chance but weren't interested and there price was beaten not only by the supplier I chose, but also by 2 or 3 other companies. All you are continueing to do is make yourselves look silly and possibly jealous that you didnt get the work.
Just a thought though..If this is the same guy who used to own the company that you bought, who do you think is the idiot if he is so rubbish ? surely he couldnt have built up a company worth buying
Please take your moans elsewhere
Phil

Luddite Dave, am I right in thinking that you work for Maximum Impact? I'd hardly call that "someone I know". Please make your position clearer, as this rather changes your point of view.
The unnamed installer is a VSIB accredited, fully trained DEI account holder (which implies that he is clifford-accredited). He does absolute quality work in my opinion.
This group buy is not at all cannibalising Maximum Impact's customer base. The chaps on this group buy are not your existing customer base, are they? If they are, do you wish to identify them so that they may be removed from the group buy? Or will they have to pay you £39 because they are "your customer"?
What about other installers in Leeds who also were willing to undercut you significantly?
The lead came from another installer in Leeds as I understand it, and is nothing to do with Maximum Impact.
Saying that this guy's word "ain't worth sh*t" is a very personal affront and I would retract those words before everyone gets their knickers in a knot over something that really isn't worth it.
I personally wouldn't be surprised if this installer said "***** to it, I don't need this hassle".
Back on topic, please respect Phil's wishes to keep this on topic.
Regards,
Nick
(for clarification, I do know Dave and Martin at Maximum Impact, and also would count the unnamed installer as a good friend.)

Firstly, I will never use maximum impact or neither will I ever recommend them to anyone for the very un proffessional, childish way they have behaved.
They origional installer has now pulled out of this group buy as he says he dosnt need the hassle, which I honestly cant blame him but dont think for one moment the business will be going to MI.
To reassure the guys who have shown interest in this group buy, it IS still going ahead at the same price, only now with UNICAR in Leeds, as I have managed to agree the price with them.
The peole on the group buy will now have a choice of fitting locations at either UNICAR Leeds or UNICAR Doncaster.
I would ask the mods if it is posibble to now lock this thread as I will start another with the list of names we have so far.

Just like to say Thanks to Phil & Nick for not letting this Group Buy dragged down by what would appear to be people with gripes
I was part of another group buy a while back, but then it all got cancelled, so I am really appreciative of this one
