Mostly 205GTIs in varying stages of mod, rust, damage - all damn good fun.

MK2 Golf 16V - was the GFs but always bagged drivers seat

Nissan Pulsar GTIR

More 205s

BMW Tourer (New baby made me panic I buy something sensible)

Now Sonic Blue 2000 Impreza Turbo - can't see us parting for a while

Some nice motors above!

I’ve had;
MKII RS Mexico, rep
MKI RS Mexico (loads of’em!)
Pug 309Gti
3dr Sierra Cosworth (below)
Series 1 Escort Turbo

Then various company cars, the last being a MY99 Scoob (below). Loved it but got proper stitched when the owners sold the business from under me (I was supposed to get the car)

Been saving ever since for another and pick up my MY01 WRX next week. Been driving some *bad* cars whilst saving hard, worst include a Volvo 740 (it was free!) and the ****roen Xantia I’ve got at the mo; the Hydo-spastic suspension is well scary!

Pete,

Q – “How does the 3door compare to the scoob? (Just in a general way)?”

Not too well; but you have to remember the Cosworth was more than 10 years older (in ‘99). With the Scoob you felt the car had been designed as an all round performance car, whereas, with the Cosworth you got the distinct feeling they had started with a bit of a dog, and then tried to make it a performance car.

With the 3dr’s being long and RWD they could be a bit of a handful, especially in the wet. You just never felt ‘safe’ to push it all the time as the turbo was either on/off - In all honesty, around the lanes where I live, I went *much* quicker in the Pug 309Gti I had, never mind the Scoob.

It was fun to drive none the less, and I loved every minute of owning it. It was a real head turner and I often think I would like a decent one again one day.

Have my new scoob to look forward to first though…

Julian

I love the 3doors, They look superb… but as you say a bit of a handful as I assumed.

Hope you have loads of fun in your scoob

Cheers Pete

Vauxhall Viva

Hillman Hunter

Vauxhall Victor

Ford Escort

Vauxhall Cavalier

Then a hatchback Cavalier (three kids and two dogs)

Ford Escort

Ford Puma

and now this

All good cars and would not like to slag any off, but i can not get rid of the smile on my face when i drive my scooby, hard to put into words, but its so enjoyable

If you have to ask what is a Vauxhall Viva or a Hillman Hunter is or was

ask your dad
