Glad you have had news on the car and you are ok.
Very scary, makes me very nervous as a female driver, especially as i drive on my own quite alot.
My only worry on a blackjack system is that if the car is taken by force as in Keigo case surely they would be more violent to make you give the code to them? (i may well be being very dim,i have no knowledge of these systems)

I feel for you m8
Perhaps if the sh!theads are caught, the police could hand them over to the scoobynet community.
I am sure we could show them how to use a baseball bat

I hope your back is ok and your not too shaken up
If there is anything i can do to help, just give me a call.

Best wishes

Ive just started to read this, good news that they found the car.
It gets you worried knowing that these bast..ds are operating in our home town. Hopefully the cops will get a match on the finger prints & these scum bags will be caught!

Sorry to hear your car was stolen m8.

A student in my year at college decided to steal my keys when i was away from my desk and take my car for a joyride, it came back 10-15mins later without damage but Police are sorting him out now.

Know exactly how it feels and suppose i was the lucky one in a way as i knew who did it.

Glad u have it back!!!

Regards

It only starts to kick in 20 secs after they drive off, by which time presumably they'll be well down the road and you'll be scarpering to somewhere safe. IIRC it's another 20 secs before it actually kills the engine.

The only potential danger is that if they know it's active they may take you in the car to make sure it doesn't immobilise down the road Never heard of this in the UK though, although most likely it happens in the good ol' US...

Sad to hear your car was stolen that way, and I hope that it is still in good condition, and drivable.

I'm some what of a slightly bigger than average size of person, sometimes I wish that the theiving scum were 5'2" andd 7 stone wet through, and the rest of us were like me (6'7" and 20 stone- ex rugger man)

I'm not surprised that you are now nervous of having a nice scooby, having gone through something like that, your confidence is bound to be at a low.

Hope things work out for you, and keep your chin up.

ATB

Wink

Sorry to hear about the theft.

Hope your car is in good condition.

Just my point on the tracker/blackjack/rac trackstar etc debate:

With a tracker your car can be tracked and hopefully recovered, but more IMPORTANTLY the police have more chance of catching the street rats, thus stopping another theft.

simple really

Another update - car is in garage around South Birmingham, waiting for police to take the fingerprints. The car is not damaged externally, and wheels are still on, which is a good sign.

But they have ripped the bits from interior, including Defi gauges and stereo. I don't think I will claim on insurance though. It won't be worth the excess and increasing premium next year. I'll just have to lose the gadgets, and hope there is no mechanical damage.

Wonder what it's like under the bonnet. I hope they haven't taken all the bits from under there as well.

The Police are only in it for the money. if they got a nice size bonus for catching car thieves then they would be on it like a rash you saw the effort they put in to catching the guy who murdered one of their own, they have the resources if they want to use them.
