Anyone been caught for Reg. Plate spacing?
#32
Been pulled a lot for this kind of thing..
Always found that plenty of sorrys and a yes-sir-no-sir tends to get me sent on my way with a slapped wrist and a "get them changed, there's a good lad"
... must be my honest face
Also carry a spare set of legit ones and apologise profusely that you forgot to take them off after your previous static show outing. (tip here.. make the legit ones look a little used.. ie, as if they ARE normally on the car ). In my experience this really works if you are sincere.
Which of course is always the case any way..
.........
Above all guys please don't break the law.. it's naughty.. but obviously if you have genuinely forgotten to remove a show plate after a show.. Plod can take a lenient view
Cheers

If I got caught with a plate on a public road for arguments sake " TOPCAR " cos wanted to see what the private plate looked like before I bought it where would I stand in the eyes of the law regards points or fines? Does anybody know?

Hi,
my number plate has had the six altered slightly to look like a G and the last letter spaced out- never had no trouble from the police and been pulled by the police loads of times (usually tellin me my lights were illegal despite them bein E Marked). only once they asked me to recite my plate and wen i did they just moved on without another word.
My number plate had a personal logo, slogan ghostin etc but the reg mark was in STANDARD FONT, so from this i always thought that the main grievance police hav is with the font of the Reg rather then the spacin or logos etc
had the plate on the car for 2 and a half years without any problems- now waitin to b transferred over!
Mo
(Dont mean to turn the subject but one of the coppers told me although the lights were E-marked that just means they met standards but still illegal- bluish light headlights- any ideas??)
