If you sell only one item for a half decent price and get some modicum of benefit from the other privileges, it isnt that much really. Plus there are other subscription choices too.
I dont think it will die a death - but it will slow down and become more focused on the core of the community, which is subarus and related stuff - which is the whole idea as I see it.
Of course, it is a shame that non related stuff will be advertised less and less - but then again, I guess the hope is that all these changes are intended to focus the community again - bring it back to basics.
So as such its a bit of a necessary evil IMO.

Guys
Please read this carefully as the same questions are coming up over and over again, and have to be answered many times which is taking up too much time.
£5 for 1 month, £15 for year, or FOC to plus members (£25 for the year)
unlimited posts while subscribed.
--
scoobyshop's products are not just for subaru's and in fact there is a large portion of products that have nothing to do with cars at all. Just worth pointing out.
--
Features / Bugs, etc. Please see the sticky thread at the top of this forum. We are working on these over the next 2 weeks.
Many thanks for all the support. We've still got a long way to go, but I'm relieved we at least have the site up and running now - if a little slow still!
All the best
Simon

I was refering to Subaru related items.. dump valves, clear indicators, air filter, samco hoses, dawes, boost gauge etc.
time will tell.
I guess the Sidc for sale forum may get a bit more traffic.

I think SN should only charge people selling things that has a value over £500. Anything less should be free or the "Wanted" section will full of posts of people wanting a M10 Screw for the car. Since im in the process of buying a scooby I'll be posting in the wanted section and people selling can just reply my post there.

As said in other post, think this is the worst idea ever!
Site is different and i kknow alot of work has gone into it, but what was wrong with the old site??
This wanted/for sale item is really bad. If this was normal like the old forum, then Scoobynet would be pretty good.
Scoobynet seems to be going down hill.
SPoke to loads of Scooby peeps today - both members and non members - and most are not happy with the for sale condition!
Just means most of the good deals, will now be posted on Scoobycity/Sidc instead of here as people will not pay up.
I think give it 6 months, advertisers will realise most of their sales will now becoming from other Subaru forums as Scoobynet wont be a key one any more and may stop advertising so much on this site
Whoever did the research and looked into this idea need their head examined. lol

I agree, if all this is just to stop people from other forums posting in the for sale section then why not just let people post in the for sale threads that have over 500 posts?
Why is someone gonna pay £5 or £10 to sell an item worth £20? there not are they!

Understand your concerns guys, and we're taking them onboard.
It's not £5 to sell an item worth £20. It's £5 to sell as many items worth whatever you like in that time.
If you decide you can't sell enough in one month to make it worth the £5, then maybe you can sell enough in a year to make it worth £15?? If not, maybe you can make user of all the features, and benefits of scoobynet plus membership for £25 and sell your £20 item FOC.
Let's calm down for a bit.
I would be grateful if you could give us a bit of time to get all of the important stuff like getting the site working properly done, and then I promise we'll talk properly about this.
I'm sorry I won't be able to spend any more time on this thread at present. I appreciate your patience and support.
