PPP & Scoobysport DP
#31
I'm bringing this to the top again to see what mutant_matt did in the end. I have MY00 PPP with K&N and am fitting Falkland's new twin dump DP on Thursday. I am trying to decide whether to put on the non-ppp catted centre section at that time.

On my 98, the full SS decat system sounded brilliant, but VERY LOUD (and my hearing is far from perfect). I ended up replacing the centre with the old cat section for a relief from the drone on long m/way runs.
IMHO, SS are the Mr. Kipling of exhausts

Nothing yet (I know I know ). I'm waiting for my Knocklink/Lambdalink (the new one with remote LEDs) from SM before I make the change.
I'll let you know what I find out though....
BTW John, do you have Knocklink/Lambalink on your car?

Given that the PPP will run safely on 95RON and I always run it on 97RON, I am hoping that it will be able to retard the timing enough to prevent knock. Certainly downpipe and PPP sounds as though it has been well tested by Scoobysport and others, and those running induction PPP and DP with Knocklink have not reported any serious problems. Perhaps I am foolish in trusting the knock sensor on the car, but given all the hesitation problems on recent models linked with the over-enthusiasm of this sensor I am not too worried. And the exhaust pipe is as black as a bear's bottom as ever so I am sure it must still be running pretty rich (not very scientific I know). However, I might be taking the induction kit off because of the noise and thanks for you NAM suggestion.
