Seriously though, I'm 26 and if you've got a child you can't sit still for any length of time becuase they want to play.
Similar reason for why we got a dog. Big plus is the dog only takes a week to house train, no stretch marks on the misses and we can always take it to the RSPCA if we get sick of it (Joke! before the animal lib bunch go nuts)

Have children!
Probably the best suggestion yet I'd love to settle down and have childern (i.e. focus my life on their future and whats best for the family). The only problem is I need to find the love of my life to have them with first.

I've always felt there is an inbuilt need in most guys to protect and provide and right now the only person I have to protect and provide for is me and thats not at all stimulating. Depsite the fact my life sucked in most other regards I was amazingly happy when I was in the long term relationship that I thought was the 'one' - maybe I'm just being buggered by my own male instincts. As good fun as it might be I doubt screwing half of Edinburgh would make me feel any better.

Default Go and travel

It will soon kick you out of your apathy live on your wits meet people who earn twenty dollars a month and see how nice, generous and happy they can be. Go to almost any country in south America or Asia get a little way off the tourist trail and really see how the world is and what life is all about far away from this crappy self centred little island.

Only trouble is you might get into a travel run out of cash then go travel some more as once you see a little of the world all you want to do is go and see the whole thing. All you need is a plane ticket a couple of grand and someone in the UK who can wire you money in times of trouble. You will learn skills you never new you had. You will at times have to bribe police and customs and you will get ripped off at least once. A good tool is a fake or real teaching english as a foreign language certificate so if you run out of cash you can always earn a pound or two.

The other thing is I know very well that I'm actually quite privillaged to have my own house, car, stable job in the UK with money to have some fun with and good health, etc. In fact, it makes me feel even worse that other people are in a far far far worse situation than me because I beat myself up thinking things like, 'what right do I have to feel down' which actually makes me feel more down!!!

This is why I don't/won't go to the Doctor as I'd feel a prized pratt using NHS money telling some guy I don't feel very happy but can't give specific examples of anything that is seriously worthy of being down about.

I'm thinking Yoza's answer is worth thinking about

When your in this sh1tty mood, take a little walk around your local hospice, or better still the cancer ward at your local childrens hospital.

That should sort you out.

Nothing better for straightening your head out.

Then you could get a bit more focused on your own life, try doing a sponsored walk, weight lift, Easter egg run, or whatever for the ward you visited.

Value your life, like its your last day, you may not see tomorrow.
Chin up mate!
I've had a torrid past 2 months due to Girlfriend issues. I don't enjoy going to work anymore and i hardly batted an eyelid when i won £1700 on the Lotto last week. Life just seems to be floating aimlessly along! However - i've got my health, and i know i'll snap out of it soon and so will you! Go and visit Si, and have a beer. Maybe you could swap notes on selling Scoobs

SB, I think I know what your problem is, I suspect you have been listening to Radiohead, cease and desist, now for your health.

Remember life is finite (i.e. it ends), you may as well enjoy it, dont get wrapped up in 'stuff', possesions etc, get out there and do a bit, perhaps some random act of kindness, rather than focusing on your own hapiness think about someone elses, make a differenece to their life and perhaps yours will sort itself out. Get involved in something, be s special plod ?

Lay of the beer, that always helps me, alcohol makes you feel better in moderation, occasionally but has the opposite effect if over used or abused. Ditto Chocolate !

The weather is getting me down a bit but at least the long nights are getting shorter, that will help.

Go for a walk, not weekend, now, just get your trainers on and go.

What are you waiting for ?

Beleive me, a walk helps, couple of miles away from distractions like PC Games, Scoobynet, tv, the fridge etc etc does help, I do my thinking when I walk.

Hope you get yourself sorted Saxo boy, its not a nice feeling "not being arsed" with anything.....

I know how you feel, cos I have been there on occassion for no apparent reason.

At times over the past year or so, I have had the "can't be arsed doing anything/talking to anyone" etc etc, and I suppose it is a form of depression, but a bit of positive attitude and plenty of things to occupy your mind can help a great deal.

To counter the feelings, I have been occupying my mind with things like my wedding which is in August, also I have just gotten our keys for our new house. We got a German Shepherd pup 6 months ago (8 weeks old). If you can focus your mindset on something constructive then the lazy/can't be arsed feeling do subside.

Speaking to a doctor is good advice also, even if its just an informal chat with no treatment as such, it may help to shed some light on the causes of your feelings...

Hope you get it sorted soon mate.

regards

Talizman

So :

Delete Radiohead MP3

Get a kid

Get a dog

Go to the gym

Buy a Pizza

Go to Laos

Overtake another small French car

Visit a kids hospital

JOB DONE

Seriously though there is mileage in seeing how content people with nothing can be - if ever you can buy 'perspective' this might be the way. The poorest people often 'posess' only their family, their charm and their smiles. These traits are so lacking in UK, but I then do have a big car and a big telly and am slightly interested in buddhism and my PS2

D

Ohh Yoza also forgot to say buy a nice big Breitling watch so you can time your misery accurately!
