I have 3 of these kits on the shelf with more being made monday or tuesday , but I have 2 orders in awaiting clearance of payment , I can do these kits pretty much straight away

Yeah I certainly do have a RB5. Good to see a fellow owner doing his reaserach as well.

I`m going for this kit as it offers a good middle ground between spending £1K+ on a set of 4 pot AP`s or the like but is also an improvement on a general disk and pad upgrade. I also don`t really do any track day stuff so I think this kit should do me perfectly.

It`s just a case of biting the bullet and spending my hard earned cash.

One more thing, do Godspeed offer a discount to SIDC members?

Do you really think your customers would be prepared to subject the denizens of Mid Glamorgan to such a sight? Then again, if you're talking about doing it on a Friday night, I doubt anybody would notice.

BTW, looks like that's 2 x my regular commission sent to the usual Swiss bank account Ian.

 

So, greasemonkey this was just a ploy to guide us to Ian's path, with subtle comments making us rethink.

I hope you get a commission 'cos your knowledge and comments certainly merit it.

BlairC, my views the same, just thought I'd rather spend a little bit more and get sumit decent than the OE stuff. I too have to sort out some hard earned over the next week and get back to Ian.

I too am very intersted in this 335mm set up.

I have just fitted non genuine blue print pads and discs to my STI V4 (Red 4 pots) and the brakes are garbage! Nice pedal feel but fade after two hard roundabouts. Sh*te brakes.

So as I say v keen, just a couple of questions.

My 17" spoke wheels are very close to the caliper (lucky if there is 10mm) and as the oe caliper is made wider will this affect clearance?

Do the exisitng seals need replacing with the caliper? If so are these included?

How much are braided hoses?

Will there be much gain in going for your rear brake conversion as well? (only for fast road and very odd track day)

Finally does the price inc VAT?

If only RB5C!

Joff, if you've got 10mm of clearance between the edge of the caliper and the spoke, that's loads! Only thing to watch is that some spokes curve inwards at the top, and obviously the caliper is going to be something like 20mm nearer the rim, but if you've got that much ATM you should be alright.

As a general point though, you should never fit "unbranded" pads if you care about your braking performance, as you just don't know what you're getting. You'd no doubt see a huge difference just by going to a low cost known "fast road" compound like M1144.

 

Is there a website where I can get more information about the Godspeed 335mm kit? I have an 03WRX so already have the 4pot calipers so am mainly interested in teh larger discs.

I’ve been trying to get in touch with Godspeed for a couple of days now but it just seems to go through to their answering machine (being so busy can only be a good sign!).

Regarding the group buy, I’m looking to get this brake upgrade as soon as possible as my current brakes are shot. I’d be more than willing to have a word with Godspeed to see what they say about a group buy and also if they offer a discount to any of the Subaru owners clubs.

**** Ian, the Wyedean is supposed to be a one-day event. If it took you the entire weekend, how slow must you have been going?

Brake problems slowing you down perchance?

 

Actually one of the problems was brake related , they were new and wern't bedded in enough so were fading , before you all jump on me it was a hire car and they were supposed to have been bedded in , I bedded them in left foot braking between stages , and if any of you bed my kits in like that it's a hundred lines and off to bed with no tea !

 

Which muppets did you hire that from then? Take it you won't be going back?!

 

Yes I am , I'm doing 13 rallies in it this year , its going ok now , for a mild spec Gp N , it went a bit quicker on saturday after I lightend it a bit by ripping off the rear bumper
