Must say that I never recall having a JW on the doorstep, double-glazing salespeople, policitcal canvassers, window cleaners, yup, had them, and been polite in telling them to leave.
I don't care who it is , JW, born agains, whatever, I have my own beliefs, and nothing you say or do, short of performing a miracle in front of me, and then I'd be looking for Beadle or at least a TV crew , would convince me to change my beleifs. I might not totally understand others beleifs, and I might not wish to, however, everyone is entitled to what they believe in.
If someone is going to come to my door, well, they better have a damn good reason, I am very intollerant, especially if I'm busy (hey, concentrating on SG-1 is very hard ).
On the subject of JW's, think a mate of mine was one, never had any problems with him, and he was not holier than thou, remember him having some fun with his girly in the shop he worked in and getting caught by us lol.

As friend's there just like you and me, normal on the outside, but never try and have a relationship with, I was warned by many people several months ago not to get involved.
But damn , she's fit, she's 20, what more could you ask for, however It's their way or no way, they can be so normal at times but like a borg after they have done there three times weekly bible studys.
You cant tell me it's not brainwashing, Im worldy because I have no beliefs and an agnostic/unbeliever and she should disassociate herself from me is what the elder's tell her, I've never disliked any religion to the extent of this one, I held the same opinions as everyone else does about wts, but untill you actually get involved or invited to a reading then it's time to stand back and start to worry.
Unless you have plenty of fact's dont start an argument with one, especially on the subject of religion, because you wont win, unless you sit on the ******'s
Okay I no you get extremes in every religion, but it's just plain crazy some of the s*** they believe in unnecessary deaths/ refusal of blood, Shunning and Disfellowshipping/ friends and family members, suppressesion of independent thought, heaven is reserved for the select few (144,000), already picked/ so why do they waste there time canvassing?, and so much more crap that I just can't be arsed to type up
www.jehovahs-witness.com everything you ever wanted to no but couldnt be arsed to ask
Can you tell we split up today? ******'s

hi people i know these people p155 you off coming round johos, jews, muslims, all types of religions but at the end of the day thay are doing what thay think is best for mankind i have a lot of freinds of all race religion and even smell but there all good people know matter how thay live their life(id rather they where spending their time trying to help people than nicking my scooby like other people like to spend there life). The best thing to do to stop them geting you out of bed or bothering you, get one of them door stickers PLEASE DONT CALL IF YOU ARE A etc i think they work and if they still knock then you can get a bit moody coz then there just beening rude.Im not in to religion and im not just sayin that coz i dont give a sh*t im just trying to help.

It made me angry that they were using the kid as a tool to keep me talking longer. <shut>
I feel so sorry for the poor kids. It's the adults choice to believe whatever religion they want but I don't think it should be forced on a child. A child should be doing normal childhood things like playing not beeing traipsed (sp?)door to door first thing in the morning.
I was telling Mr.Scooby about this thread and he reminded me about the christmas before last. He'd gone over to his Nans on Boxing Day morning. He counted 17 !!!!! JW's and their children in knocking on doors on his Nan's street. Poor little kids

believe in unnecessary deaths/ refusal of blood
As an aside am I right in thinking that a doctor can override the parents decisions (via social services etc) in order to save a kids life if the parent is refusing life saving treatment for them?

i think they have to apply to the court for a court order to allow them to give the child blood but they have to prove its life saving (i think) and i would suspect in most cases if its life saving the would be too late
personally i'd save the kids life first then go to court,

We get regular visits from them as well. They are very pleasant people who are deeply religious and there is nothing wrong with that. They are doing what their religion tells them to, ie spread the word. They never outstay their welcome and don't overdo the religious education bit.
It does not hurt to demonstrate patience and good manners. If you don't want to listen, a polite mention will usually do the trick. There are far worse organisations then Jehovah's Witnesses in this world.

A JW has just knocked my pint over/looked at my bird and I've beat him up - we're talking about the works here, pulled his hair, kicked him in the belly, I've even scratched his arm (I know, sometimes I can be more animal than man). Turns out the poor chap is a haemophiliac and has lost a lot of blood, as you would in such an attack. He refuses to have a blood transfusion and after a 3 weeks of bleeding he finally chips out . Have I murdered him or has he taken 'the coward’s way out'?
