I also hope that all those who are moaning about immegration never go out to eat at the local Curry House, Chinese, Pizza shop...eating their food only encourages more of them to come here you know.

I think the real point is not so much that of immigration by foreigners or by people from different religions etc etc. The main worry is where is everyone going to live and where is the welfare money going to come from to support them when we already have our own deserving cases here. This country is already overpopulated and there is not enough housing to support large immigration. Our Social Services just cannot keep up with it and the Police Service can't control the problems. The roads are crowded and the PC brigade wont allow more roads or improvements to the existing ones. The NHS already is struggling to take care of our own people, and the illegal immigrants.
There comes a time, and it has done already, when we must call a stop to it. No-one can say we have not done our fair share already as far as immigration is concerned.

good point sbradley....Iran is more of a mix of arabs, persions, kurds, baloochies and turks.....appologies.
What about all the eastern europeans flocking in. They are killing the building industry and our own tradesmen cannot earn enough because they are sleeping ten to a room for a tenner a week each, spend 6 month working for 30-40 quid a day and run off back home with the money and live like kings.....I used to work for that as a labourer 15 years ago.how backward is that. trouble is contractors know they can earn more proffit...why pay me 120 quid a day when they willing to do it for 30?
BUT ITS KILLING OUR OWN TRADESMEN.
I worked on on the hsbc in canary warf 3 ears ago putting in granite access flooring on the directors suite....2000 people working on it and hardly any english speaking workers. When they done working and are off home they only let another one of thier mate that are comming in have the job!
What is going on?

taxi drivers in london are suffering the same fate too
this whole issue will have severe negative long-term consequences for this country
why cant this country think for the benefit of our long-term populace
some european countries like germany and france are tightening their border controls and installing a work permit scheme
get tough and f*ck the racial inequality/refugee departments who play the race-card left right and centre to let a few more hundred thousand in
this is not a perfect world and everyone does not live in harmony and integrate

Ed good point!
I work in Construction and about 12-18 months ago we were tendering a job in the midlands, a shopping centre in fact. All work was on nights and we were pitched around £1.2 m. We lost the job to a German Company (no probs with that) who just operated with an agent in this country. We lost it by £250,000 we couldnt understand how.
A few months later i was talking to one of our suppliers who had been to the job for a meeting to see if he could win some work off the said Germanic company. Whilst there he found out that the material was being shipped in along with Polish labour. They were being paid £15.00 a night and were bought a VW Camper vans so that they could sleep in them on the roof top car park. When the job was done all the camper vans were given to the immigrant workers as a bonus. I mean WTF can you do when you're up against that
I've since been to the job and looked at the work, although the German materials were A1 the installations and workmanship were rediculous and indeed the client had and still has issues with the quality...................................Small comfort for me as i've still lost a £1.2m job
Pi55es me off that the client knew we were the right people for the job but the thought of saving all that money was just too much.
So now we have a **** looking shopping centre, money taken out of the country (around a million), no work for our workforce and a load of Polish immigrant workers running round in camper vans telling their mates how good it is over here. The winners in this is a German manufacturer and his agent in this country. Incidentally the agent drives a 355 which just puts the cherry on the cake................dont it

Buzzer it has become the wrong side of rediculous.
Your absoloutly right abouty the quality of workmanship. I saw this problem years ago, knowing thier ideas of building practises or no where near uk standard, coupled with the fact that they only here for short term so you get the don't give a she-ite brigade that bodges and legs it.......Polish cowboys
Because they are white i wonder if we are racist. I have extended family that are polish, visited the country few years ago, dont stop me getting hacked off at what its doing to the people of this country.

Construction and Building are two totally different trades Steve.
I agree that shoddy workmanship to houses is common but thats down to each individual builder paying silly money for land and then skimping on the workmanship and material to subsidise the extortionate price of land otherwise you would find your 200,000 house would be nearer 250,000 if you wanted a pucker job

yep its amazing, well lets see then quote by my dear old mother' a good % of the reasoning behind the governments successive poor stance on immigration is that our english parliament is full of ble*din Scots!'

You could have the situation we have over here.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with US history, in particular the acquisition of Texas and California from Mexico in the early 1800s.
The emmigrants, from Mexico, have vowed to take back both States, one neighborhood at a time.
This attitude has both levity and seriousness to it.
Levity, because it was said with a smile and laughter.
Seriousness, because it is occuring.
As an ethnic neighborhood expands, so does their culture.
But I'm sure you have noticed this phenomenom within your own country?

stress levels rising
Nice thread...
Is there any country left where there are less laws and more common sense? thats what I want. I want a country where when a boy racer takes out a pedestrian he gets shot and everyones glad that hes been shot. I want a country where when i go to the shop if a 15 year old asks me to buy **** for him I can tell him where to go without fear of being arrested.
Im finding myself becoming less and less tolerant of bad kinds of people, and i cant decide if its for better or worse. The other day when all the snow was down, i was driving my practical beater (renault 5) to work and a bunch of kids popped up from behind a hedge and chucked snowballs at the car, which I wasnt expecting. It startled me and could obviously have been dangerous, not to mention causing damage to the car - I should have driven on and ignored it.
But the stress levels had gotten too high! red mist descended and before I knew it id put the car through a gap in the hedge (into the field where they were) and chased them. They got to some trees before I got near but at that point i realised that there were a couple of very startled people whod come out of their houses after hearing me caning the car sideways through the hedge looking at the obvious madman whod driven his car into a field
I continued my journey to work less stressed. I bet it was a good 10 minutes before the kids bottled up the courage to start doing it again.

I tell you something. I am genuinely scared/apprehensive of the future.
When you hear extremist views stating that the Islamic/Muslim minority are planning to slowly erode this country's beliefs and traditions away, by literally growing this minority populace beyond the indigenous population and by taking full advantage of the relaxed liberal laws that help them beyond their 'status' then, my hairs stand on end, as I imagine the consequences of this plan running unchecked to fruition.
It maybe an extremist view. But I guarantee that every Muslim/Islamic person will not have a problem with this.
This is part of the reason why people like Abu Hamza are not fully condemned by the Muslim/Islamic leaders and elders.
They might crow a little and pay lip service to our worries, but deep down?
The religious Islamic tenet is 'to win the war'.
Nuff said..

[QUOTE=PETENAUD]In 10 years time this country will be finished.
But wait untill the british or christian is the minority in what will no doubt be renamed The Islamic Republic of Britain, every church will be a mosque and the slums are full of brits. Will they give us £300 a week in benifits, bloody doubt it.
Just a few points...
I listened to a radio programme yesterday where a planning application for a Muslim community centre in Yeovil was causing huge uproar in the town. This wasn't a Mosque, just a community centre and the local white population was against their fellow local muslim population, many of whom have been there for a good many years, having some focal point for their community. What's the problem there? The problem is people refusing to accept change that will barely have an effect on them.
Refugees have come to the UK for years, some come now from African countries that have ongoing problems from when we and other 'enlightened' countries such as France, Portugal and Spain, were in charge of them and then left behind problematic legacies, as many Zimbabweans might tell you today.
This country is hardly a Christian country any more. Church attendance continues to drop, and just because members of another faith choose to practice their beliefs in a free country is no reason to condemn them. If you're that bothered about Christianity, then stand up for it, have another Crusade, but that's just more imperialism and extreme views.
I don't know if living in London makes it easier because of the huge varienty of nationalities, but when I buy something like a coffee the person serving is often foreign. That isn't a problem, after all they are working, and making a contribution, as most people who come here will want to do. There are plenty of spongers amongst our 'indigenous' population to point fingers at before finding others to blame.
When Hungary etc join the EU, I can't see the average resident waking up one morning and deciding it would be a good idea to leave the country they know, the people they know, the language they know and move here where they know no one and don't speak the language. Logic has to play a part somewhere.
Cheers
