What INTERNAL components needed for monster horsepower?

Nuformz makes a "Block Guard" for Honda "B" series open deck blocks running turbo kits: . Perhaps there is something like this for the EJ20?
1.84 liters, stock internals, stock cams, port and polish, T3/4 turbo, race fuel, TEC-2, cool plugs with a big gap (1.4mm?), lots of timing advance, 750cc injectors and 25 PSI =

Soren,
Looking at the power graph you put up, that Tec-2 needs a serious remap...... Must be like driving a "helter skelter"....
The peaks look good though,
Mark.

hello all!
I've just bought this 2.5litre kit. I should have the engine in about 1 month or so. I already have the HKS/Garret turbo (torque developments) the HKS frontmounted intercooler and GEMS ecu. When i used it on the 2litre engine it had a poweroutput of 327PK and 465NM of torque.

Soren, that mod is to lower the compression, they do this because the Hondas are hard to get low compression pistons for, most people are after high compression for racing etc.
What I am saying is you don't need that mod on an EJ20, because you can get a good range of low compression pistons for the Sub's.

Soren,
It's highly unlikely to be the injectors. At low rev's the engine only uses a fraction of the fuel needed at high rev's, and that area looks fine.
To me, it looks like massive overboost cut, and I'd either check the datalog, or datalog some runs to see what's happening.
When I say a "mapping issue", I mean the boost control parmeters, more so than fuel, or ignition.
Mark.

R19KET,
Not my car... as I understand it, the big dip is due to a fueling problem, not a mapping issue. Ric is looking at getting even bigger injectors.
submannz,
The block guard is drifted into the open deck of the B16/B18. "Closing" it at the top to prevent to bores from moving (notice the water passages). It doesn't go on top of the block to decrease compression.
Before Fitting:

Head gasket in place (you can see the water passages:

Stick, I am running a TD-05 turbo hybrid, with custom made impellas, with different inlet and exhaust housings. To give you an indication I can fit a standard TD05 inlet inside my new one. The BPM stroker kits are good for 400+ Hp there are a number of cars in Australisia running them.

AJ,
Since you've seen the car (it's the first I've heard about it), can you tell us about it. I'm interested to know just what needs to be done, to get 400bhp @1.3bar.
I just had a look at the RCD site, but either I missed it, or it isn't mentioned.
The turbo must be pretty big (what is it), is it very laggy. What else have they had to do.
Mark.

You will need at least minimum of 550cc injectors to get 400+HP, and an uprated fuel pump without melting pistons all over the place.
400+ HP should be getting mid 10 second quarter miles if not, they are full of crap.
No not all RA engines had closed deck blocks, but basically ALL 1989 N/A and RS EJ20 motors did have closed deck blocks. Have a look on my web site http://www.geocities.com/subman2001nz/
