Where did you find that number Phil? The Applied Model code should be stamped on the ID plate located on the offside front suspension turret.

I have an i.d plate on my nearside suspension turret, along side the passenger side wing. it includes colour codes & trim codes.
it is an Import, does that make any difference........

There should be another plate in the same position on the opposite turret, which carries the VIN and applied model code, along with a couple of other bits and pieces

Sorry to change things slightly but,
Greasemonkey, what r your thoughts on ppp chip as apposed to bob or power engineering carrying out a re-map? Oh and carrying out the other similar mods elsewhere, i.e. springs wheels etc,
Apart from the cert and warrentee, let’s assume the car is out of three years or 60000 or you want to take a chance?

Ive found the code, but it aint on the off side turret, its on the near side. the off side turret has rivet points but nothing has been put in them, stil has un-spoilt original paint.
The code is : GC8-A47D, now don't tell me I've got a high speed bread van.....

Well, it ain't a bread van, but it ain't what you thought it was either. GC8A47D refers to the very first MY93 WRX Type RA. It's not an STi (they didn't pop up until MY95), and has a 240bhp rated output.
Virgin: If it's a new (ish) and still has a manufacturer's warranty, the PPP will raise its resale value. If, as you say, you're talking about an older car that's out of warranty, you can get better bang for your buck from the likes of the people you mention.

Bit if a piece of string question, best course would really be asking the people concerned. TeK3 very rough guess probably 330 or so, but if it were my car, I'd go for the PPP and keep the security of the warranty.
Then again, if it were my car, I wouldn't have bought an STi Type UK in the first place.
Anyway, we're starting to drag this thread off-topic now, so prob best to start a new thread in GenTech or Drivetrain if you've got more questions in this area.

Cheers Greasemonkey.
I got STI from the STI graphics on the front wing, not to concerned about your info I love the classic & my motor is absolutley mint. It's not standard though, what has been done to it I'm not sure. I used to set cars up on rolling roads for a performance centre, and there is no way this motor has only 240BHP. I'm told over 300 & can well believe it, but i stand to be corrected.
Thanks for the info

The STi logos must have been added by a previous owner, but this is a slightly moot point, as the car you've got was the homologation special upon which the original Group A Impreza rallycars were based. Still a very good car as you say.
