They refused to quote me as they couldn't match the exact model of my import....

Maybe I should word it differently, it's a 2002 5Dr WRX - nothing strange about that is there?

I phoned up for a quote on a RA which they didn't have on their list, but they said it wasn't a problem they would insure it at the same price as a normal STi. I was really surprised and asked them to contact the underwriters to make sure the car would be down as a RA on my policy, they got back to me and said it would I didn't buy the car though

MY03 STi ........uk spec.

LandV got it down to £996 with 6 years no claims bonus.

Includes track days / full euro cover for 180 days
Any mod which doesnt increase engine capacity
protected NCB

That will do for me I think ..... Norwich Union wanted £858 but didnt seem so friendly towards mods and track days....

Hi Ron

I'm with them and my mods are listed in general terms

e.g. Wheels mods, exhaust mods, bodywork mods

They have been told specifically what they are though. They told me in the event of a claim I'd need to provide receipts for non-standard parts if I wanted to claim for them.

Cheers

Where abouts in the document is that ? I've received mine today and I can't find anywhere that says it has to be standard - but, as they've not asked for a list of mods, I don't expect to find any in the docs.

They said that they don't need a list, but I will need to be able to prove them in a claim - e.g. receipts etc.

Ta,

Mark

L&V are a pain in the ***....

Been on the phone to them this morning.
To ask a few questions about the quote they have given me.
Also noticed that on my renewal that they had me done for 5years not 9 years that I have.
When I told them it changed the quote from £766 to £966, luckily I found the year before renewal which stated I have 9 years.
Been onto my present insures who now state I have 10 years on claims ,have to phone L&V to see how much the quote will be now.

Been on the phone to L&V again and 9years it the maximum NCB they give.
But the nice girl on the other end told me that instead of £766 which I was quoted last week it will be £710…..

£100 more than bell direct but there’s no hassle about modifications

Jasoon, thanks mate !

I thought that 5 yrs was max no claims, so I've just phoned back (cos I've 9 yrs) and they'll refund the difference, once they've had the proof letter!

Excellent

Ta,

There's an accompanying "Statement Of Facts" letter which has all your and the cars details. This is different than the "Insurance Schedule".

All my paperwork came together.

Cheers

Hmm - I've located the 'statement of facts' section - no mention on there of the car being standard or modified......

How odd....

Not sure about direct line, but their sister co. privilege charged me 30 a year for TSL backbox and was OK with 'replacement' Eibach springs....

When I spoke to them this week, they said they'd quote for mods, but I went with L+V because I change the car so often !
