**Knocklink & Lambdalink GROUP BUY**
#153
Stef/Grip - homestly a piece of Mr Kipling!
I'll buy one and then do it - NO WAY do the LED's have to be part of the amp & black basement box!
I had to discuss a fix on a dry joint in a 15 layer board the other day (1 board with 15 layers in a prof VT machine, half the width of a matchbox). I was nowhere near it, so Sony got £2500 to fix; this basic simple baby is my little precious though!

fitting question
At the sensor where the wires join the connector do you just crimp them or should you solder as well?I ask because the first one held firm but the second wire pulled out of the connector on fitting and i can't get the metal prong thing out of the connector so have had to insert wire back in and hope it makes a good connection. Is this ok or do i have to buy a new connector and start again?Or can you prise out the metal prong thing ( sorry don't know correct term) from the connector?
TIA

I got my knocklink through this group-buy friday, fitted it yesterday using the above link as a guide. After fitting it i noticed on the instructions it needs calibrating.
It says something about turning the screw on top fully clockwise, tap the engine with a hammer - check lights. drive car at 75% and adjust so only the green lights come on.
did and how have you done this calibration, is it as per the above ?
reason i ask..
After fitting the knocklink i drove the car (Sti5) home from my parents house (8 miles) and now and again (above 6K rpm) the orange led's flickered causing me concern . is this cos i havn't calibrated it yet or do i have a problem. only the btm green one was on any other time.
If it helps, car std air filter, has all cats still, running on Optimax + OB and has uprated fuel pump.

Got mine on Friday.
Thanks to Coulty for organising the group buy and Branko/BR Developments for the efficient service.
Must find the time to fit it now
You can remote mount the LEDs relatively easily. I have seen several pictures on here with the LEDs mounted in the trim around the dials. Shame I don't have access to the search facility at the moment.
Remember that the LEDs will have either a common +ve or ground so you can join one side of all of the LEDs togther with a single wire. You will then need individual wires from the other side of each LED to the Knocklink PCB.
Not sure what to do regarding a stealth mount for the Lambdalink yet. I want to see it running to see how irritating the LEDs would be if they were in my field of vision when driving.
Graz.
