You are talking of an STI Type R, but this thread is about the WRX V-limited (not STI) Type R/RA...
Please any infos about the transmission!
Leonpoole: you said you do not have a short ratio gearbox?!?!
Is it stronger than the normal gearbox of a WRX?
Please any infos about the transmission!

Thanks for your answer!
Do you know your gearratio?!
There was the ratio of the gearbox I asked (by number) with 0825 in 5th and with the short 4.44 diff you can go a may of 220km/h at 7000revs...
Is yours as short as this? Because the short ratio is the same as an STI Type R/RA!
Seems to be the same transmission.
Would be great if you could tell me your ratio!

ill have a look what the transmition code is on my current scoob. I must admit thought the gearbox on my old scoob (sti) redlined at just over 125mph in 5th. The gearbox in my v-ltd goes upto 140mph. I dont think the v-ltd boxes are the same as the sti/ra ones

It definatley isnt the same box as what is in the sti type r. At 70mph in my old scoob it was 4500rpm ish in 5th. In my v-tld 70 is just over 3000rpm. Although saying that ive heard the 5th gear is different in the v-ltds

WRX TYPE-R
Back again
The TypeR should have a RA gearbox (Race Altered) this type of gearing is better for acceleration especially on good roads with bends and turns on - a driver car.
The standard gearbox will give slower 0-60 but better top end.
Standard JDM WRX Type R has 300bhp on 100 oct fuel.
0-60 mph 4.5 secs or slightly under.
Top end just off 150 mph.
Open deck engine - the RA has closed deck with 2 extra oil sprays on crank.
When I find the camera cable ill post a photo.

Gearing performance
Hi m8
I put my V4 WRX Type R V-Limited up against my m8s v5 WRX STI.
Accelaration was better. His revs were 400/500 rpm lower than mine when in 5th at an even pace on the motorway. I nearly said cruising - but the Type R is not a motorway cruising car.
