Agree with that!

Mr Flibble - I know, I'm not a FWD fan either. But I;m looking at the VR6 as a sort of "classier" hot hatch. Honest FWD fun but ultimately not as rewarding (or fast on track) as a sorted RWD. If the finances work out okay I will keep the Elise as well so, and RWD chassis don't come much better than the Elise no matter what price!

BTW I am amazed that no one got any really negative comments so far! I guess if I'd been asking for advice on Fiat Coupes it would have been different JOKE! - Fait Coupe owners *please* do not hijack this thread!

In my original post I mentioned that I was originally looking at 944T/S or 968. However, Corrado is SO much cheaper and not THAT much less of a car. In fact C VR6s seem real performance bargins at the moment.

if i had 4.5k it would be a hard choice for me between the coupe and the corrado,

corrado better build, good reliability, and the vw badge.

coupe is faster, better interior, and amazing a road performance.

not that you are thinking about a coupe anyway, just id be a bit torn between them to,

but i like the styling of the corrado, and with the right exhaust that v6 will sing.

id say go for one.

I assume your talking Fiat Coupe, in which case a definate no. Been there so I know the comparison. At the time I bought the Coupe it WAS the clear winner - quicker than Corrado, newer car, more stylish, better interior space, didn't need a hatchback, had warrenty, etc. Now 5 years on as a 2nd hand buy I *personally* wouldn't do it with the budget I am on. I know how much they cost to run/put right when new, I'm not going there on a 6+ year old car! Just my experience, but a lot more pertinant than looking through rose tinted glasses or heresay.

cant say i agree fully... YES the FIAT is slighty quicker top end... But to 60 most independant sources were between 6.2 secs and 6.7 and the FIAT was 6.5 secs... so basically pretty much a dead heat... BUT... put your foot down in any gear in the C VR6 and you were gone, and not waiting for boost as in the 20V turbo engine... yes when it came on it went... but point to point the Corrado won hands down... Both great cars but to me the Corrado pinches it because it was much better handling... FIAT chassis only just copes with the power... Corrado can handle much more.. even in standard set-up.
