and the pink fluffy giant fairy of atlantis rose up and caused the train bombs because she didn't like the pattern on the seats...
also without any hard evidence to the contrary so also currently as valid as any other. However anyone who thought this I would call mad, and so by the same logic I think you've got conspiracy theory madness syndrome...

sorry if my views unsettle you, Ted.....
I would suggest the problem is yours, not mine. And there is a slight difference between open-mindedness and puerility.....you don't seem to be able to draw the line....

Andrew, FWIW, the polls were pretty favorable as they stood (as reliable as polls are of course). At least 40% for the Partido Popular and Rajoy (who replaces Aznar).
Most commentators agreed that the favorable polls were due in a large part due to the ETA actions, and especially the strange "agreement/cease fire" they had made with Catalunia.

Just to make my reply clearer: I was talking about the polls before the events yesterday morning.
Aznar in a way thanked his victory a few years ago due to an ETA bomb in 1995 near his car.
Pointing the finger: well, I'm obviously not as paranoid as you etc but I had that same feeling somewhere 3 years ago in September.
The media that I watched yesterday (I'm not British) were very balanced about whether it was ETA or not, and most seemed to doubt/wonder (including Spanish journalists).
I'm not saying it's not them, but it would be a new "turn" in their modus operandi so to speak.
You do have to wonder who is playing what game with what purpose.
In the end though, it is clear that democracy loses out (not even thinking about the personal tragedies OK), and terrorism creates the perfect kind of atmosphere for "stronger leadership". In that regard, it could be labeled a fascist movement, no matter what "name" you chose to put on them.

I personally don't think it was ETA after reading about the smaller scale of their previous attacks and the stolen van found with an islamic tape.
If it was Al Q then I reckon mosques are going to be burning across Europe. For most people enough is enough and any muslim will be assumed to be a potential terrorist and probably a target for revenge by the far right.

one more thing suresh mate
did u know inthe quran it says the most ardent enemy of the muslim is the jew and the chief idolators, its true , looking at the history but it says the christian is the closest to the muslim
except for the new born again zionist.
the chief idolator now is the hindu no one else and both them and the zionists plan things together for the destruction of the muslims and they both wait and see the christian and muslims destructions , slaughtering each other.
not all of them mate but alot of them do want that
doesnt matter how many times the muslim saved the jew from extinction they still want the muslim dead and still jealous of their younger brethren able( arabs)
God said in the bible that he will gave his favour to another nation, basically their cousins
and now i read all the time what was in the quran over 1400 yrs ago, the hindus and zionists are planinng things
where the jew is close to a muslim in faith they rather help a idolator to destroy their cousins the muslims and why do the orthodox christians arabs and catholic christian arabs not like the western christian coz they believe they arent their people but the muslim arab is their brother, see what i mean, in lebanon their is a division against christians from the maronites and the orthodox and catholic arabs, maronites are westernised and believe their white were the orthodox and catholic believe their arabs and only arabs are their brothers

Moses why do you bother? Nobody follows your links, nobody reads your cut-and-paste pro-islamic crap, nobody cares. The CWE forum will be shut at this rate, and I think that would be a pity.
Going back on topic it looks like Al-Queda/Islamic group were behind the Spainish bombing

But copying and pasting all that is pointless moses and is not on topic. It does not refer to the events in Madrid.
Can I remind you of the title of this thread? You guys aware of what's going on in Madrid this morning?

But Moses, does this mean that non-muslims are not allowed to voice conerns that Muslims may be the target of attacks because you (or others) think that it is inferring that such things should take place?
That is outrageous! It's like saying we shouldn't talk about being vigilant against terrorist attacks because it encourages people to carry out those attacks.
I don't think Suresh is anti-mulsim, nor do I have any reason to dis-believe the fact that he says he is not a Hindu. Just because he comes from that background deosn't make him a Hindu, anymore than my background makes me Welsh Presbyterian! I (and my parents before me) have turned our backs on it, we are 'areligous'!
I have the same concerns, because I think it could cause a backlash against Muslims, but I don't consider that incitement, just realistic.
Geezer

im welsh and in no way religious but i still think that if it was al Q in spain then there is going to be a backlash over there with muslims being targeted and its a sad fact that if the UK gets targeted by al Q that there will be a backlash over here...
