Another Subaru WRX STi video

So DJ have you removed the video in fear you do get prosecuted as you think you were driving dangerously?
If its just because of the comments on this thread then I wouldn`t of bothered to remove it. Especially as you say you were only doing the speed limits.
I can understand you being slightly upset at greasemonkey, as that style driving is probably perfect for you but you got to realise that not everyone drives the same way. Some people will wanna take a chance to tell you its not big and its not clever. NO offence intended. I think GM was being a bit hard on you saying your car was tacky but think maybe it was the way the whole video was setup.
If I was you and that was your first video attempt in the Subaru good on you but please if you gonna do films like this make sure that you do them in deserted areas safely without other motorists to add the thrills to your films.
I reckon if you had done the whole video on your side of the road and without Joe public getting in the way then it would of been recieved on here alot better.
Just one other thing and not having a go but your driving and filming antics do portray an image of all the rest of us Subaru Impreza Owners. So please remember if a police officer see`s your video he might presume that we all drive like that which might make him take extra interest in our cars.
There is currently a group buy on Hague SM1 Suction Camera mounts which can be placed on any flat surface inside or outside the car. Gives a good quality stable picture.
One other comment on the car is I think the exhaust sounds a bit rattly when you were revving. So maybe a good quality exhaust might release even more power to your right foot.

Response!
Well hello everyone, I am DJ WATTS`s fiance` and thought i`d join in the fun as we co- own the Scooby!
Just looking at the responses to his movie that he posted, and i think Greasemonkey you are really out of order! I can understand where you are coming from with some of your points, ie: The location and the driving in general as i also had my own concerns, but i think the way you worded your responce was disgusting!
There was no way that DJ WATTS could take that as constructive critism, because the way it read you were just taking the **** out of him!
Whats the point of having a nice car if you can`t show it off once in a while to people of the same team?!?!
To say someones car is tacky, what the hell is all that about?!?!?!
Maybe you could do with taking some lessons in the way of tact!

So Scoobybabe you agree his driving style was out of order then. Glad hes going to marry someone with some common sense before he kills somebody innocent by showing off to a camera. Why doesn`t he do it like we all do at the organised shows and events throughout the year. Track days, 1/4 mile runs and static displays. Even putting the car on the rolling roads around the U.K. Proves something. But driving in the style he was demonstrating is nothing more than dangerous to the rest of the motoring population.
I reckon he should put the video back up aswell cause like I said in my previous post it is a good effort for first attempt just calm it down on the roads. Cause your accidents lead to our insurance increases.
I tell you something if you wanna show off your car then come along to Northern big One. 400 - 500 Subarus all wanting to Show off. Or if you really want to impress us get it on a trackday or 1/4 mile run. Camcorders are great for recording how you have wiped the smile off a supposedly faster drivers face and see how fast you really are against similar machines.
I must admit I do like Silver Bugeyes especially with Anthracite wheels and carbon bonnets and boot lids. Also get yourself that camera mount aswell it would really improve your camera work and also not require you to have a passenger. Could get some really cool shot of the cars rear wheels if it was attached to the rear door aimed at the rear wing and wheels and road.

I enjoyed reading your reply Subtyper. I do think that DJ WATTS needs to go somewhere that caters for his style of driving, i was just very disappointed with other views from other people. DJ WATTS has always enjoyed visiting this site thus why i joined, but when i read the tactless replies from other members i begin to wonder, is this what Scoobynet is all about?! putting other people down.
I`m trying to stay neutral in my response but i would feel the same if the attack was on another member also. I just don`t think there was any need for the post from Greasemonkey and i think a big fat appology is in order! LOL.

The best advice i can give to you and Your fiancee.
Is listen to all the comments then decide on which you feel is important and the rest you disregard.
God help me when everybody sees the graphix that are due to go on my motor (Colour Changing foil Chinese Dragons against a Sonic Blue background). But hey thats why we are all individuals.
We all know how our own motors turn heads and thats what matters. Dont worry about getting an apology just enjoy the car. If greasemonkey or anybody else doesnt want a photograph session of your car thats his choice. Just enjoy your own motor knowing your making your own statement.
So are you two gonna sign up for the Northern Big one and also do your bit for the Cancer research Charity then. Look under the thread Northern. Was fantastci last time and think there is loads of Imprezas coming from the West which would make a very ncie big convoy to video.

Incidentally, I also think he should repost the video. If he wasn't doing anything wrong, there was no reason to take it down in the first place.

First off let me congratulate you on your posting SUBTYPER. I see your point and the video was in no way set out to offend anyone.
You really have a way with words and come across as someone that tries to think of things from all points of view and not limit yourself into a singular thought.
Thanks again for the warm comments and constructive posting.
I may just do that as i lost my uncle to cancer a few years back and it could be a way to give back something and at the same time share my passion with everyone else. I will check the post after i have finished typing this.
It was how i received the car from japan, with the stickers on so who knows maybe the last owner got paid? I do know that the car is an ex jap showroom car though.
Regarding the movie,
Well i set out to make it look far more intense than it actually was as that was another choice for the background music. Hype, buildup etc...
I can hardly go round driving 100MPH when its not safe to do so. And beleive me i have respect for my car and i really dont want to destroy the thing because im a hot head or something. Which im not.
And also the movie was done on 60MPH country roads where not much traffic at all goes down.
Which may i add that i more or less stayed to... give or take a few % here or there.
Maybe we have some members on here that drive on country roads to the totally exact speed and never dip that accelerator now and again, but some members will dip their foot from time to time just a little, (and i mean a bit of progressive driving not ragging it from A-B at 100MPH) and a country road seems ok if safe and the best place.
Yes some may argue, well keep any/all slight over limits to a track and those people are entitled to do so and all the best to you.
I never wanted the movie to portray scooby owners in a bad light (that couldn't be further from the truth), but it was only done for sheer passion for the car.
As for me uploading the movie back up, well im afraid that if it seems to intense to some on here then im not willing to take the risk anyway and like some have said you never know who would watch it and think the worst from it even though i have altered the movie and intensified the feel, the wrong people may not see it that way.
So its not worth me bothering over it.
And what with the situation we had here on the thread im not wanting to start another heated debate over a movie that was done. Its just not worth it.
Lets just move on and try to keep things real with one another.
Respect to you all and kind regards.

Simply that I thought the car looked tacky. I've never seen the point of putting stickers on a car unless someone's paying you to put them there.

Nope not a chance!
Video is for private viewing only now but maybe we could go off topic?
Im wanting to de-cat the piping on my car and go full de cat but im worried about noise level increases as my scooby now is a loud beast so how much louder are we talking from full de-cat?
Also if i were to FULL de-cat im estimating i can achieve around 30BHP more onto my whatever but i do not want to sacrafice torque so how much torque increase would i have on the de-cat?
I know what im asking is just "best guess" really but thats all im after so go easy on me fellas.
My worst case is that i de-cat and only achieve say 10BHP (6+bhp torgue increase) over what im running now on an "prova product of Nurburgring ECU" and have noise levels that do not warrant the upgrade.
Anyhow if anyone wants to shed any light then feel free to.

I havent seen the vid, but would like to reiterate the comments on here. I too have small llamas called barry who live in my loft and frequently walk them in strange fields at night. I also cannot condone the use of hedges in the making of any video without asking their permission.
In future please ensure that any place mats are removed from the dining room once the meal is finished?
Thankyou - I cant believe no-one mentioned the place mats - whats wrong with you people?

OK............
Im a copper and i saw the video.......
IT WASNT THAT SHOCKING..........
Seemed Ok to me. Nothing dangerous or stupid, some fast driving that obviously some people have a problem with.
There was only about 2 or 3 (i cant remember now) overtakes and unless you were in the car with a full field of vision you would not know if they were safe or not.......and in my opinion they looked OK
No one got hurt and the film was not that outrageous.......
