I don't post much in this forum, but I do read it nearly every day. I'd like it to stay. There are some interesting topics raised and if everyone stays calm and it doesn't descend into religious dribblings and hatred, then good discussions ensue.

The thing is, now more than ever it's important that people become more involved in all political debate, the Spanish people and government have just proved this.
Simon, in any walk of life, right now banning political debate is a censorship that goes too far and it will do nothing for either world peace or the eradication of global terrorism.
Everyone need as say whether car enthusiast or not.

Jye, but is this forum instrumental in all that ?
Mind you, I do love the discussions, and I learn a lot from them, but maybe this BBS is just not the right place to have them ?
It's a question, not a statement.

Well it certainly could/should be Somedude. At the moment probably not as like most people in the UK the majority of SN'ers probably think voting for yet another bunch of weasels every four years is 'active involvement'
Asking people to take part in political debate 'only' on dedicated forums wont change the majority view or increase political awareness. Surely political debate warrants being aired wherever possible even in a motoring forum. If it was up to me I'd put it on the national curriculum.
The situation in the middle east is not going to go away, imo it is the new cold war and its imortant that people take note of this.

I agree with Jye. CWEs have never been more relevant. That's why people who denounce others a ***** (they know who they are, and no I don't mean moses) and so on when these difficult issues are aired really have no place at the table and should take their attitude problems elsewhere.

Can't disagree Jye, apart from thinking that the middle east situation could even be more damaging in the long run than the cold war. (for all sides before someone gets in a fit )
At least the cold war was, erm, cold.
So according to everything that was said on this thread, the forum will be scrapped ?
Not even 100 votes for 30.000 plus members, sounds like we didn't make it.

Yeah SD, would be a real shame though. I'm afraid though folk just dont want to hear bad news m8, and lets face it CWE's is like any news these days, bad. Folk would rather talk about funny (?) stuff in Muppets than get depressed or angry in here
Apart from the moderation problems I just cant imagine any other scenario where something like CWE's would be closed and the trivia that is Muppet is kept, a move hardly befiting a forum 'supposidly' geared towards adults. This sort of stuff could only happen in the UK m8, yet another symptom of the general malaise our muppety populace and leaders adhere to.

The point of the poll was as stated originally.
The reason the forum is still here is due to limited time to read and consider all posts, etc and make final decision / act.

Keep it
It makes an interesting read, and its convenient to catch up with some of the world events without having to get away from SN
Come on webmaster,if some people dont want to read or post then they dont have to,but for the ones that do,it would be like taking a bottle from a hungry baby.
How about getting rid of fight club?
No body seems to care about that.
My two shillings worth

Come on Katana
Have some courage,if racist or extremist remarks may come out on here then
who cares?
We are all sat behind a computer and are allowed to say what we feel.
Many of these people would probably never show you that side of them on a face to face level.
IMO its important to know the views of others no matter how offensive they may apear.
I hope I havent got the wrong end of the stick with your reply but I do think this is a good forum.
I do glance through all the forums on SN but in terms of spending time and reading,
Its the only other forum I look at other than technical and classified.
