People parking opposite drives can be annoying.

When the street is wide then parking opposite isn't too much of a problem.

My street is narrow and quite often one of the neighbours parks opposite my house. I haven't complained as I know people can park wherever they want.

I am worried that one day I might rip the front bumper off my car though (yes I do get off the drive very slowly).

Anyone being blocked in by neighbours, just knock on their door at 4 in the morning and ask them to move their vehicle. Do this 3 or 4 times and it wont happen again. Trust me..........

Jye, IIRC any commercial vehicle must have a specified location for storage off the public highway. I have a whingeing neighbour who used this against the guy opposite us who ran a garage (mechanic) and often left his delivery van on the road overnight. Same law that applies to JCB's. You can't just leave 'em anywhere, apparantly.
Only if they're over a certain weight - they'll have a Commercial parking order on them and a disk in the window, you can check and see if it does have one - if it does it's probably registered to be parked somewhere else.

Problem is it's public highway so as long as a vehicle is taxed you can park anywhere.

Anyway - back to the original problem As long as he's not causing an obstruction he can park where he likes (as long as his vehicle is taxed ).

Only thing to be careful of is if he's parked over the end of your drive and that has a dropped kerb that's technically obstruction! Because dropped kerbs are considered as provided for all road users (i.e. wheelchairs/pedestrians etc.) so if you block one a police officer in a bad mood could technically issue a fine even if it is over your own driveway as the dropped kerb is on highway land. However not many people know this so you should be ok
