i feel it would be desirable, in the interests of fairness and balance, to send a delagation from SN to the woman forum

Weapon69,
Think you have a similar guy to me.
I think we should scare them into spending more time with us.
When my b/f is away from the pc for a few days and then wants to catch up, he goes on his fave sites and goes through all the new posts.
Why can't he be selective and just read the ones that look interesting and therefore saving time.
i will also say that his time management is bad. I know he has important things to sort out but will then spend 3 hours on the pc on his fave websites.
Maybe we should tell them about spending time together and then go out with our mates.

Has nobody seen the irony in all this? W69 is complaining about her BF spending too much time on the computer - and she's complained about this on scoobynet AND on a woman's forum!!!
So I suggest you both switch off the computer and actually TALK to each other like modern couples....
....by texting![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

LOL dont go there with the text thing, it drives me mad!
It isnt also a case of I am on the pc all the time just to make that clear
I switch it on when I get in and check email as I get more on this than post now such as credit card statements etc.
I will then have a quick check on any SN posts on threads I am subscribed too while dinner is cooking. Have dinner, do what ever like watch telly for the evening. However if there is something really crap on telly I will play on line against SN'etters at something normally driving related. Funnily enough Eastenders, Footballers Wives, Sex in the City, Friends etc etc do not interest me in the slightest![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
What difference does it make if I watch something I dislike or be on my pc while the program is on? Absolutely none to her as far as I am concerned.
And I say again Brendan, we havent got funds to go down the pub or go out to restaurants at the moment so sitting in is the only option really. When the telly is so crap both of us resort to going on line as its more interesting than watching boll0x on tv. If we both had loads of cash then we would be out all the time but unfortunately my lottery numbers are yet to come up
No cash means no going out, especially when both of us are trying to reduce debt by paying it off and am in the process of moving house etc. No lavish spending is possible.

If it's comfort to both of you, we've just spent over two years in a small 2-bed flat with a large-ish living room, in which was the desk and the sofa. TV runs through the PC, so just one screen. All rooms led off the living room. The flat was on the fifth floor with no elevator, so you don't just "nip out". It drove myself and wife MAD when son was always there, sittting in front of the screen, watching TV, messing about on the web, or usually both (do you know just how much time you can spend when messenger, internet and 50 channel TV are all available on the same screen???). Drove my wife mad when I sat in front of it. Drove me mad when she shouted at me to get me off it as I spent "far too much time on it" - so that she could go on it.
So silly comments aside, I can really, really relate to what you're saying.
Those days are over; we now have a detached house with four FLOORS![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

LOL thank god there is someone here who knows exactly what we are on about ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Brendan we are going through the very long winded situation of moving currently as I have had enough of a 1 bed flat which was my batchelor pad and fine for just me before but its certainly not fine for me and the Mrs and me wanting my son to have his own room instead of kipping at his grand parents etc. I cant wait to get out of it as its like a prison cell its so cramped.
I have promised w69 things will be different when we are in a house. I want to sit on a sofa and relax of an evening as much as she does (as long as I can have my laptop on - joking!

B20, that's pretty identical to me. I got the flat in Jan 01 when I came here single for a 10-mth contract. In July 01 my to-be wife and 12 yr old son joined me, just as I heard I'd get a 5-yr contract to stay here, so we started to look around to buy somewhere; NOT easy in the current market. Jan 02 I found somewhere, but Mar 02 had to let it go as there were rumours we'd move to a different country. They died over the next six months. Sept 02 found a really nice place, offer gradually accepted in Feb 03. BUT legal difficulties meant we couldn't buy the damn place until (halellujah!) 4 Nov 03. In Feb 02 my wife had said she couldn't handle another summer in the flat (top floor, stifling hot), then she couldn't handle another winter (bloody cold, no heating). In fact she had two more summers and another winter.
But because we always kept thinking we were about to move, we never changed to another rented place (need to give THREE months notice, not easy). And it was like this for two years in the end.
And your son's what, 4-6? Ours was 15 by the time we moved!! Imagine your situation with Kevin the teenager (in his own 9ft x9ft, sloped-ceiling bedroom)!
I really sympathise, but it makes you appreciate your new place so much more! Good luck to both of you, it's just one of those things in life you have to go through in order to get to where you really want to be.
(BTW, how much are you asking for the flat?)

LOL my son is just coming up for 7 and his possessions take up enough room now, let alone whathe will have amassed and demands by the time he is 15 ![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
I really cant wait for the new place if it ever goes through.
I got £135k for it but my cash buyers are likely to pull out now due to where I am buying not finding anywhere
I am looking at other places now with no chain just so I don't lose my buyers as where I am buying at this rate could take another 6 months to find somewhere
If they pull out then its going straight back on the market and will have to start all over again
And I stand to lose £300 valuation fees if the whole thing goes **** up as the mortgage company have already done their bit. My sellers are p!ssing me right off, they have been holding it up for weeks and weeks
