probably cos they don't want to have to make the effort with a new gf so they'll just complain about what they have instead of doing anyting about it

Butkus & Milo - my reason for staying with such a woman is that when we get on, we get on really well. She's an ace laugh to go out with, i oftern have a better time with her than i do my mates!!!...and she's proper eye candy...must admit it does give me an ego boost to be seen out with her.

But I know there's no long term future in it so I suppose I'm enjoying it while I can cos it won't last.

She's too demanding. I aint prepared to put up with that long term. Shame but you win some you lose some.

CC,

Fair enough. I've been single a LONG time so I wouldn't listen to me anyway!

You have to do whatever makes you happy eh?

Thumbs up

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from
the male side. These are our rules:

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it
down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about
you leaving it down.

2. Saturday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of tides. Let
it be.

3. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that
way.

4. Crying is blackmail.

5. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not
work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

6. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable to almost every question.

7. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what
we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

8. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

9. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact,
all comments become null and void after 7 days.

10. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

11. If something we said can be interpreted in two ways, and one of the ways
makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

12. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done.
Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

13. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during
commercials.

14. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.

15. ALL men see in only 16 colours, like Windows default settings. Peach,
for example, is a fruit, not a colour. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no
idea what mauve is.

16. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

17. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like
nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

18. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you
don't want to hear.

19. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.
Really.

20. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to
discuss such topics as Sex, Sport, or Cars.

21. You have enough clothes.

22. You have too many shoes.

23. I am in shape. Round is a shape.

24. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on
the couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind that,
it's like camping.

Scenario last night.. It was the later part of the evening and we had eaten. He was then dosing on the couch.

Me: Are you going to wash up? (it's his turn)
Him: I am too tired
Me: Why don't you go to bed then?
Him: grunts
I decided not to hassle him and went in the bath.
He then decided to get off the couch and then use the computer for an hour, by which time I had gone to bed. He then moaned at me for not spending time with him, I said we couldn't use his computer together (especially as he was on the net).

I know last nights washing up will be left to me as he is working late tonight.

Why do men do things like this?

recently (as documented on another thread ) the missus came across a mouse in the kitchen. so she decides that we need to banish all crumbs, fragments of food etc from all work surfaces at all times. i pointed out that:

a) it was an impossible task as a mouse would always find something that we miss, bearing in mind that it is 100x smaller than we are
b) she has spent the last 35 years, or at least the period of those years that i have known her for, scattering food about the house without caring in the slightest, as if she was feeding the birds or something - what's to believe she will suddenly change now?

had to laugh at her indignant denial of point b. the number of times i have found remains of her snacks on the sofa, the carpet, the duvet, the bed sheets, anywhere else you can think of, is probably beyond counting. i used to make a point of handing her a plate when she was walking about with toast/bag of nuts or whatever in her hand. gave up eventually.

why do women do things like this?

I suppose the answer is, and its not much of an answer, everyone (men and women) are different - if you're not happy with the arrangements, change them or go your separate ways, there has to be a balance, an element of compromise. Living in a relationship where you are constantly unhappy is pointless - you can only put up with it for so long, until the bad outweighs the good.

My ex g/f lived with me for 6 months after being together for nearly 2 years. I did all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, paid all the bills, made sure she had everything she needed, treated her to hair and beaty treatments, holidays, clothes, jewellery, shoes etc. She just wouldn't do anything for me at all, and when she had got everything she could, decided to walk out leaving me with a £2k debt she ran up. I suppose I'm better off without her, but that doesn't make me feel any better.

No matter how nice you are to people, some of them will still **** on you from a great height and think this is perfectly acceptable behaviour.

i'm sure there must be loads of nice girls out there who don't act like that and would appreciate things that someone would do for them, and would want to do the same in return, I just don't know where they are !

Me, I'm just bitter.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

Us girls can never get enough good treatment.
We all think (and know) we should be spoilt, I expect the guys also want this treatment, but we will dismiss that.

I know compromise is important as you will each do things that the other doesn't like. As long as there is a fairly even balance then life should be ok.

Any volunteers for the washing up next to my sink?

The reward is the satisfaction of knowing every thing is clean.

I could offer a reward, but then I think I would lose my b/f...lol
I am not that kind of girl anyway..sorry

I'll start the washing up even when I'm round my g/f's place. Last Sunday night we were cooking tea and I'd done my bits of chopping 'n stuff, so I started the washing up.

It's pre-programmed into me by my folks during growing up - you cook, eat and then wash up. Don't wash up, and you'll be in trouble

The only exception is breaky, when time is short and a mug, bowl and plate isn't worth the effort.

Must make me strange?

There will be a time when YOU will be too tired to do your turn at the washing up and then maybe he'll do it, or maybe it'll get left until the next day when it's his turn anyway.

TBH, it's not worth getting so upset over a simple thing like this. It all evens out in the end.

In our house I normally cook every night and Steve does the washing up. Occasionally he's too tired and will forget or go to bed without it being done. It's not a big issue, in the scheme of things....

It appears a lot of you have it easy compared to this poor guy:

Good luck to him for putting it up on the web though - wait till his other half finds out
