For a more direct comparison, (and less abusive to the car) you could try a 30-80 run in 3rd - This doesn't knack the clutch, is less prone to 'driver changes' and gives a good run from off-boost into boost......
If you've a major problem I'm sure the times will be massively out (% wise)
Maybe you can get someone else with an 03 WRX to give a comparison, as this WON'T work between models......

Out of curiosity I tried and I can do about a 9.....
In my MY04 WRX.....
that i'm running in.....
starting at 1,500 revs and letting the cluth out smoothly......
at three quarters throttle......
staying under 4000 revs.....
i think u have a prob.

....LOL!
....someone on here, SaxoBoy I think, once said that if you think your car is now feeling slow (ie. you have got used to it), then try accelerating hard, but with your head jammed right back up against the headrest --> it really works, you'll feel as if you're in a rocket or something
sorry I'm being silly I know but just try it and see

Why not try an in-gear acceleration test, to remove the driver error from the equation.
Try 30-70 in 3rd, that will give a good indication, does anyone know what time that should be done in?

Be very difficult to break the sub 4 second run, that would be major everything mod, not just a massive BHP output.
be interested to hear from those who claim there's would do this & exactley what mods they have....
