We should do as the French do and eat them instead of allowing them to parade round our road system

Ban them, why can a dog owner get fined alot of money for a little plop of poo on a patch of grass somewhere when horse owners leave their animals mess everywhere and theres about 100 times as much.

as said too, I think it wouldnt be as bad if they was responsible adults in control of the horse yet half the time its a school kid in charge of a dangerous animal.

disgusting creatures.

It took me 18 months to recover £700 when a rider lost control of a horse & its **** slammed into the side of my 3 hour old car.
Even though the rider was insured, initially my Ins Co was led by the nose by the rider's Ins Co & just rolled over when they deemed the rider not responsible & wanted me to saddle the blame. After a heap load (steaming) of pressure they finally lifted their nose from the trough & recovered my excess & costs. (Just kept my nose ahead overall)

Dog mess is carnivore waste.
Horse muck is herbivore waste.
There's a world of difference between the two, but if you knew anything about anything at all, you'd know that

How refreshing it is when threads like this make their quarterly reappearance. It reminds me what a knowledgeable, intelligent, unbiased, unbigoted, caring sharing person the average Scoobynet user is. Perhaps it should be renamed Moronnet

As for cyclists doddering about 2 x 2....dont even get me started!
Need to fit some bull bars!!

I think you are missing the point. Nowhere did I say I am perfect, and i'm not. I just think I am probably a bit more tolerant and able to see the big picture than most on here

You actually show yourself as less tolerant and totally one sided through your horsiness Dave.
Defending your passion is one thing, dismissing others opinions from a different perspective is ignorance.

Mind you, I see you mellowed when the MoronNETters got you.

Unlike probably 100% of the "chop them up for dogmeat" brigade, i've been both sides of the fence - used the roads as both a horseman and as a driver

However, I haven't been defending the horse as such, merely the fact that whether or not we like it they do have a legal right to use the roads. Whilst that is still the case, we might as well be tolerant of the fact

Wink Ferrets

How would the horses catch ferrets if they're no longer allowed to hunt in packs on the open road?

Be careful, horses have very long memories...............

Dave-T-S I think we are all aware they do currently have a legal right to be on the roads, the topic was "should horses be banned from the road". That's a different issue.

Bit like the argument that smoking shouldn't be banned because it is currently legal. Things can and often should change to fit the conditions.

If you chopped up a horse you would be left with horsemeat and not dogmeat, even Davegtt knows that!!
Yes you have the legal right but that was why the thread was started. "Should horses be banned from the roads" so we were invited to give our views. Your views however started with an air of superiority that was soon stemmed.
Of course everyone needs to be tolerant of the fact but I don't recall anyone saying they were going to "horseram" next time they saw one out on the roads.

Still can't believe you think you'd get dogmeat from a horse, wait till I tell Davegtt.
