Does that mean original Scoobysport backboxes will go up in price now . Seriously though, I am really sorry to hear that Scoobysport have gone. Pete was the first person I spoke to about upgrading my Impreza when I bought it back in 1998. I phoned him to buy some uprated pads cos I was doing atrack day and ended up spending £1500 on a full Brembo kit!!!

Well I know that Dream Weaver developed the site. Maybe nobody at Scoobysport has the knowledge to take the site down? And if they've ceased trading, they're hardly going to pay anyone to do it, are they?
By "ceased trading" what do we mean, exactly? Has the company gone insolvent, or has Pete just decided to jack it in. Everyone's acting "doom and gloom" here -- it's possible that Pete has decided to stop for personal reasons.

All at Hayward and Scott are very sorry to hear that SCOOBYSPORT have gone,as we did for 5 years have a good working relationship with him.We as you all know designed the Scoobysport exhaust for Pete ,which he then took to the track to test (with great results ) hence the legendary exhaust was born.
As a lot of you all mention the exhaust in your comments would just like to say we are still producing the exhaust ,so not to worry.

Sorry to hear about this, I've met Pete a few times at trackdays and he's always been friendly and helpful - a scoobysport backbox was also my first mod. All the best mate, and I hope everything works out for you.

ref Scoobysport, like others my first mod was the backbox, the 2nd was brakes from Pete, from his involvement in SIDC, through to spending money on my motor and getting me hooked on trackdays, he has always been a please to deal with.
ref the rainy Croft piccie
I think that was one of the 1st outings with Pete's new lights, almost blinded me from the opposite side of Croft, and I think Pete also aquaplaned across the grass that day with a passenger
All the best Pete.
regards,
greg

The've ceased trading, why would they be there?
I think Pete was directly attributable to me starting modding Scoobs when I bought my 1st exhaust back in late 97 I think - and although I quite often didn't see eye to eye with him, it's still a great shame that something like this has happened.
Is it a market forces type thing, or rather just moving on to pastures new?

That was the day Mike Wood took me out in the UK300 - will never forget it, Mike has such a huge level of skill, I spent most of my time looking out the side window, and being scared
I'd just lost my old job that week - seems a long time ago now.

We were all very sad to here this. Pete is certainly the one guy who can hold his hand up to starting a UK tuning scene which now employs a great many of us.
Anyone with that insight won't be winding this up without another great venture in the background I'm sure.
Thanks for all the good times mate.. and help in the early days. You certainly set a high benchmark for us all to follow. Good luck with whatever the next big thing is!
Cheers.. and don't forget to have a beer on us! I know the old man will miss your technical chats!

Guys
I would rather not post the reasons for the ceasing of trading here as I do not know whether the details are private to Pete and will respect that.
What I do know, is that Pete is genuinely touched by the comments here, and whilst he obviously has a whole lot on his plate right now sorting things out, I doubt very much this is the last we'll hear from him.
On a slightly dissapointing note, I've notice a few thinly veiled plugs from competitors (TSL, and Pat definitely excluded from this - before anyone gets the wrong idea!!), which I personaly consider to be in poor taste, and have been removed. Please respect the nature of this thread, and do not post plugs. Unfortunately, due to the fact that a small minority have spoilt it for the rest, we will have to remove any further posts that contain references to commercial companies other than scoobysport, so please do not include your company name if you post to wish Pete well.
All the best
Simon

All the best for the future!
I'd just like to echo everybody else's comments and wish Pete and the rest of the ScoobySport team all the best.
When I dipped my toe into the murky waters of modding, I was really undecided between a Scoobysport Backbox or the Prodrive one.
Both Mike and Pete gave me great advice, but the sound of the ScoobySport won me over
Even now, everybody at work and where I live knows when I'm out in the car
Thanks, not only for a great product, but also for all the phonecall advice and input on this bbs.
Again, all the best for the future.
Dan

I have been a Scooby owner for just short of two years now. Like many I set off not intending to mod my car. I lasted all of three weeks before I bought a Scoobysport back box!
All the best Pete and to the rest of the SS gang.

I am very sorry to hear about this, Pete helped me out in the beginning and has always been there with words of support for me.
Scoobysport may have had their fair share of criticism over the years, but people forget that they were one of the first if not the first on the scene and helped put Subaru where they are today in the UK in terms of tuning and popularity.
Thank you Pete for your words of encouragement and support, I hope you stay in touch and I wish you good luck in whatever happens next...

Once again I can only echo what others have said. Pete I very much appreciated your advice as to the best way to make my wagon fast while still being my sensible car. But best of all was recommending the right pads to rid me of the squeaky brakes B-) not to mention the increase in brake performance.
You've always taken my calls even when there was no certain sale at the end of the day. Thank You. I wish you and everyone at Scoobsport well in the future.
Regards
Robin

End of an era...
Pete,
Truly the end of an era....when I first bought a Scoob in 98 I was introduced to Pete (and many others) at the various SIDC events around the country.
Pete ALWAYS gave up his time to chat to any other enthuiasts...and made all new comers welcome at ALL SIDC events...a true gent
Pete, if you read this I hope you will still be around and that you don't go to ground...the Cat for one will not be the same without you M8...
Best of luck with whatever comes your way in the future.

Orders Placed
Does anyone know the situation on parts ordered from scoobysport that have not been received. I placed an order for the group N+ brake kit 3 months ago and paid over the phone on credit card, Pete has informed me that there was a problem getting the stock in from Pagid and ive not received a thing. Spoke to Pete last week and there was no mention of him ceasing trading and that he would chase up Pagid. I am now left with nothing and minus £396.
It is a shame to see businesses like this stop trading as Scoobysport has obviously been a reliable outfit with alot of knowledge about our cars.
Any advice form anyone regarding my situation would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't know the full circumstances of your purchase but under normal circumstances an order over £100 purchased with a credit card is protected. You should take this up with your card provider.
