About the addictive issue... I cannot help drawing direct comparisons between self-adornement such as piercings and tattoos with the boy racer halfords stick-on effect.
You have one, it may look good (if you like that sort of thing) and so the brain starts saying "maybe it will look twice as good if I have two" and so on.... Unfortunately it doesn't scale quite like that. The law of very rapidly (i.e. into negative) returns applies I think.
Before you know it you are a tattoo covered metal-micky in a Nova complete with spoilers, sitckers and chrome trimmings!
Having said that, people can do what they like to themselves as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there are just as many non tattooed undesireables of one form or another as there are tattooed ones!

Some tattoos are a work of art though ajm. Many tattoo artists are superb artist in their own right and you will find most *good* tattoos adhere to that point.
If you want to you can design/draw your own art and get the tattoo artist to do the rest, so it *can* be completely original unlike nova boy
FWIW I manage to stop before covering my whole body

True. If tattoos looked like the day they were done for years and years, i'd probably think better of them, if done tastefully and in moderation. The problem is, they don't, and almost always end up looking like a.n.other tattoo rather than any work of art. IMHO.

Everything I write makes sense Diablo, you know that because you have to work so hard following me into threads trying, and failing, to discredit my writings!

One's a simple syntax error and could you please correct this one for me
edited to say: oh, just to add, a homosexual joke, how witty and original
