and P.S. when are you going to give me a press car to thrash round the nurburgring? That will be a proper test rather than these short squirts at Bedford that dont represent real world fast roads anything like how the ring does. (thats why all the major manufacturers spend millions testing there)
I would love to take the T25 there too, but i think thats asking a bit much of Iain, Subaru can afford for me to stuff their car though.

The Wr1 has 18", what tyres are on them, RE040's? if so they are loads harder but should last longer but would not achieve "The Fastest lap"
Also many peeps for Trackdays put Octane booster in to protect the Engine from Detting/ECU detuning.
These supple differences could make vast differences IMHO
Tony
Ps The WR1 is based on the STi10JDM it has 17" RE070's on, which road 'legal slicks' and would give loads of grip for "Pole" / fastest lap
might have been better to leave them on
Are Prodrive having a sell off on them ?

You chaps still dont get it.
I will spell it out for you again.
THE WR1 IS THE BEST UK IMPREZA THAT WE HAVE EVER SEEN BOTH IN VALUE FOR MONEY AND EQUIPMENT TERMS,
If you choose anything else its up to you.
You pays your money.......

Arron, stop being so damn short sighted...what you said is akin to saying that the WR1 is the best specced, most capable, best value for money offiially imported Impreza ever released. What we want to hear is Mines Better Than Yours! LOL

Well it's not is it Arron?
The P1 was almost as fast everywhere, yet it'll cost you £16k nowadays.
I'm not sure what you term "value for money" but £14k for .2 quicker 0-100 and .6 faster round a track, is not VFM in my opinion
![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
You are right of course (new cars anyway).
Ian took his std P1 down there and got 319bhp. Did he get a good one or are PE's rollers a little optimistic. Gee, I just don't know

Craig you know I unfortanely bought a brand new P1 and you know what I thought of it.
It cost more than the WR1 and had a crap spec.
Rolling road power figures dont interest me.
I personally cant see the WR1 being that much different to an STI 8 fitted with the PPP and spring kit bar the diff but we`ll see.
I think the car is running pretty much to its maximum on the standard injectors and turbo and the exhaust fitted and still be reiable.
Thats where the 2.5 with a much less stressed bigger turbo and engine in general will score.
The only question I have is warranty and reliability.
what happens if a T25 go`s bang after say two Years of ownership.
Not speculatively speaking either what REALLY happens???
We ran an Evo 5 from Park Lane about 3 years ago and it was sold with one of those underwritten warranties and it wasnt worth the paper it was written on...trust me.
That car cost a fortune to run.
It was driven hard.

There are different levels of being driven hard. ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Until you push much past 300 / 300 the modern subaru block is very strong and reliable. Properly serviced, warmed and cooled, it can really take a thrashing.
Having driven and been driven in the ATD system test mule JDM MY02 Sti, it made me realise that what 99% of us class as hard driving is childs play. I spent the entire day waiting for something to break, and it never did. We went through 2 complete sets of tyres in a matter of hours.

I know full well about underwritten warranties and agree totally haaving experienced the "joys" of an apparent cast iron one.
That's Litchfields only Achilles heel from what I can see. Although you'd have to argue that most imports that did have problems and suffered when claiming weren't really comparable to the T25 as they were std cars from Japan, not remapped etc. I'd imagine theres a big safety margin mapped/built into the T25 so reliability "shouldn't" be an issue........

In my car you have to deal with the apex before you find it and drive straight out the corner.
I think I can carry a little more corner speed this way.
Its rather like driving on gravel but I like to do it on tarmac aswell.
More fun than fast really.

Only a chosen few can master this![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
I believe Mr Wood has now mastered the art but I have witnessed him overdoing it a little too![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Mind you I nearly hit the same building at Bedford twice![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Dave good to hear from you mate.
Hows life?
