Not sure if it's the same thing but couple of months back someone found a "WR1" for a few grand cheaper via the net. This was the Euro version though without the PPP and other bits. Also seen one dealer mentioned on here before selling "WR1" lookalikes though how a silver STI can be a WR1 lookalike is beyond me.

If someone knows where a UK WR1 is available for £27300 please post up details so we can all see.

Thanks, it looks real. Has anyone followed the order through to see if you can actually get one? I'm assuming that this is one of those companies that soursce the car for you & get a discount. With the WR1 rarity, I can't see how they can get the discount.

>WR1

The euro version is actually the Solberg edition. It's the same colour, but doesn't have any of the Prodrive bits.

This is the same site (MicroNet) that was discussed before. I seem to recall another thread talking about this site and someone phoned asking for confirmation that they could supply the WR1 at that price but did not get a call back. Cannot see that thread though so maybe I am talking bollox as usual

Here was the thread to the previous discussion though not a great deal of info on there.

Nick,
Never followed this up any further as decided to opt for WRX PPP from Simpsons due to me doing 30K year. Thought servicing costs might prove a tad expensive on the WR1 .

Where did you manage to get your WR1 ordered from in the end?

Hi bigknd

I ordered from Olympian in Poole, Dorset. They're a new dealer & not listed on the Subaru website & they're not in yellow pages either! I got the heads up from a fellow scoobynetter.

I had also called IM who called me back with a list of dealers who had not yet sold all their WR1s.

Well, I'm quite looking forward to it, yes.

Can someone give me some advice? I have a Focus ST170 that needs to be sold before I get the WR1. However there's only one car in the family. Do I sell the Focus & then buy a cheap runabout to keep for a month? Should I just hire a car for a few weeks?

Y not ring your dealer and explain the situation...You never know he might be able to do a deal to hire a car from himself at a very good rate since you are buying a 30k WR1 from him.
worth a try
