How much is a Superleggera?

The reason we don't use any of OZ's normal range and had to tool up for a different wheel is that all the other wheels are ET48 and therefore not within our preferred offset range.

>How much is a Superleggera?

About £155 (inclusive). OK, it's ET48 (this doesn't seem to be putting off people from buying it), but it's light (7kg), and is a similar colour to the P1 wheel, and very similar design apart from being a subtle double 12-spoke instead of single 10-spoke.

I just think it's a shame that Prodrive/Subaru will miss out on the sales that this wheel is going to generate...as arguably the P1 wheel is better looking (but when it comes down to it I can get the Superleggera now...which I can't with the P1 wheel).

I'd also prefer the P1 wheel on the grounds
that it's a WRC replica wheel (I want grey not gold which I know you have said is available...cos my car is a grey car!)...but economics when the wheel is TWICE THE PRICE...and not available with no release date yet...!

>The reason we don't use any of OZ's normal >range and had to tool up for a different
>wheel is that all the other wheels are ET48
>and therefore not within our preferred >offset range.

Couldn't Prodrive have released an ET52 OZ SuperT in conjunction with Oz, to offer Impreza WRC fans the same wheels as you run on tarmac? In gold and anthracite?

the problem is this. i asked my dealer repeatedly about these wheels, but they insist that they can only be ordered with the chassis number from the P1 that you own, as it were. however, could the rules be bent on this, i.e. let someone 'lend' you their chassis number??

mike
sorry, i dont want gold, my cars mica red and i think P1 wheels in anthracite are the pups nuts, and don't want my car to look like shes wearing pat butcher earings.
WHEN can we buy P1 wheels??? theres a lot of dosh here for your company!

Mike

I agree with you about Prodrive/Subaru missing out on potential sales of wheels.

Jaguar understimated this market, but overcame it. It was on the 20" wheels that they do as an upgrade. They estimated that they would sell 300 sets a year, but sales proved to be in excess of 2000 sets a year!

That's a lot of wheels and a lot of profit!

Being a P1 owner, I appreciate what they are doing by restricting the availability of parts for the cars, but I think that no harm would be done by making the wheels available.

Question

Dave

I wouldn't marry Pete because he doesn't have P1 wheels.

Now if you bought some for Carolyn, maybe she would like to upgrade.

Guys

Does the ET48 make a lot of difference? There must be loads of guys out there running suboptimal offsets with wheels from Scoobysport etc.

The P1 wheels is just glorious. I want some.

Mike, e mail me again off line with one of those good deals you gave Dave T S and his missus.... I won't tell anybody

And the WR sport backbox....

Why don't you buy a set of the 17" P1 gold wheels and powder coat them anthracite.....

Mike W can't give you a discount - you have to get them via your Subaru dealer - but being a Scotsman i'm sure you're not afraid to ask your dealer!!!!

Cool

just had a call today from my dealer, Days of Chelmsford, and P1 alloys in anthracite are now available for general sale to ALL impreza owners!!!
down side is they want £999 inc. vat for 4, and that doesnt include tyres!

not cheap, but i personally think they're the nicest wheels you can get, and transform the car looks wise ( it did for princess' silver scoob)

does everyone think this is an acceptable price?

No I don't!!!

I wanted the P1 wheel, since it came out
on the P1. Cost though! (and maybe a tad
dark for some people's liking?).

I'm ordering a set of 17" OZ Superleggeras tomorrow
with Goodyear F1, all in cost is £1011 !!!

Mike.

Spudgun - get the identical ones in gold - £799.80 from Days/Prodrive (if there are any left, only 20 sets made & we were in for the first two sets like a shot) - plus £2.50 for a Halfords anthracite spray paint.......

What is the weight of the P1 rim compared to the standard 17" WRX rim?

Prodrive OZ part No SACC2510 identical to P1 10 spoke anthracite, but in GOLD - and with correct offset (ET52).

£170.17 + vat each from your local friendly Subaru dealer....BUT, only 20 sets made...so don't hang around

OR, get yours stripped and gold powder coated - probably about £30-40 per corner......

Cool

Had the gold P1 wheels/S02's fitted yesterday to our DBM and green cars and they look awesome.

BIG thanks to Mark and co at Tyres Northampton for fitting the wheels/supplying the tyres and getting up early to do it (shame we were late, sorry Mark!! ). Nice neat professional job done.

S02's are in a bit of short supply but I know he has four sets left if anybody needs any (01604 588599). Did ours at a very good price (no i'm not telling how much, you have to cut your own deals!!)
