I removed all the posts from that new member as they were all crap.
Not entirely surprising to discover that they all came from the same IP that scooby-tc uses, so he won't be posting over there any more either.

Personally i totally agree. I see too many 'Turbo' wannabe sports drivers driving around thinking they have 300 bhp under their bonnet. Its exactly the same mentality as the Neds in their sheds.

I own a MY97 sport which currently has no scoop. I'd rater spen my money on other mods like brake upgrades and suspension.
Dont think theres anything wrong with a scooped sport as it does make it look fantastic. Dont think anyone is trying to make there car look like a turbo, just making their cars look nice.
Anyway, how many people on here would put a sport bonnet on their turbos if they had a front mount intercooler. They would then be trying to make there car look like something it isnt, which seems to be ok if you got a turbo but not ok if you got a sport.
BTW nice looking car mate.

Seriously is that nice looking? It has awful alloys, an out of place bonnet scoop and a old style spoiler. Come on chaps lets be honest here

LOL - took a few views to realise the last photo was a different owner's car
Sports are great. I've had one and now I have a turbo. Only difference (other than acceleration) I can tell is the turbo is killing me on running costs

Didn't this thread grow while I was gone
I'm used to the occasional negative comment on forums, I can't expect everyone to like it, world would be boring if everyone had the same opinion. I can afford the insurance, petrol and servicing on this car but no chance in hell I could on a WRX or an Evo so this is as far as it goes for a few years. If I get on with it who knows, maybe a WRX will be next, but so far I'm v.impressed with the handling and goes like stink compared to my old 1.4 so it'll do me hehe. I got my bike for speed anyway, 125bhp and 185kg is quick enough for me

You've got a nice car! It's a shame some options are voiced more loadly than others.
I haven't had my car long either so am interested in others thoughts. Not sure I'll be putting pics up if I've got some of these responses to look forward to, as mine looks a bit different to other WRX's being a V-Limited. Think some may take a dim view after me reading this. Still, if the owner likes their car, then who cares!

Pre-99 2.0 Sport = 115 BHP Standard
99-00 2.0 Sport (Phase 2 engine) = 125 BHP Standard
There are some minor disagreements with these figures, but its only around 1 BHP

Sorry guys you gotta laugh at this,,, As some of you know, from the thread that i had on here some time ago.. which i hasten to add, got ruined by noarrow minded bigots. and people like Scooby-tc that have nothing constuctive to say about a sport. Sorry TC but u have never once said anything decent about a sport, not even when i used to travel miles each week to come and see you.!! And you have changed your cars appearance quite a lot.! but nothing negative comes back does it.? not even when you posted on the sport site,!
He wants to make his car look like a P1 when it is a Type R. and so on and so on.. people change their cars to the style that they like, which is exactly what we have done with our sport. Some have but neons on them. which in mho look kak! ( sorry to those that have neons on their scooby) And what about the likes of the guys from TSL? how radical can you go with scooby?? but because it is a turbo, no one says owt about its appearance, but if it was a sport, then you get all kinds of pathectic comments!
Some of the younger guys that have got GL's and Sports etc probably can't afford the more luxurious Type R and P1's or 22b, some of you guys that own turbos, be them UK or imports, have got overly high insurance. If they choose to have a sport then so be it.. given time they will eventually go for a turbo, if they choose to that is,.. i know of a few people that started out in a sport, and they loved em, but then wanted bigger and better.

Kiowan - good canvas you have there, and just a few small (cheap) things like colour coding will bring the car to the standard that Subaru should have given it from the factory.

I dont even own a scooby although im saving up for a 1.6 gl wagon which might i add wont have a turbo bonnet on it!
I personally dont see point in having them as they do nothing apart from feed cold air to the floor which is completely useless!!!!!
