quote: "Motorway? A std bugeye WRX is NOT a lot quicker than a PD150/330D - not when rolling in top gear anyway"
I agree, but what Impreza Turbo owner is going to leave it in 5th when wanting to accelerate at those speeds- not me, I'd be in 3rd and the sad case in the diesel would be lefting eating my ***-wind.
Love the morons earlier on this page talking about NoS'd up diesel Golfs beating NSX's. What a load of old rubbish, you could tune even a Perodua Nippa to beat an Enzo, if you fitted a jet engine in it that is. What a load of old bolleux.
I haven't test driven an NSX either and I despise Sport Imprezas, just can't see the point.

Since when is motorway driving classed as "performance"
LOL
I find it the most boring, mind-numbing experience whenever I am forced to use the motorway, I'm usually one of the slowest cars on there (70mph) because it's not worth battling with all the diesel rep euro boxes. (and my baby sisters 1.1 Fiesta can be wound up to over a ton, so there's no fame in that).
Fare enough, if I did only motorway driving I would have bought a diesel (prob the 330 beamer) but I would like to think most people buy a performance car to enjoy something a bit more challenging... like track days & flowing A roads?

"The DVLA think it is a Cooper"
Yeah I checked that too, but I didn't notice a vent in the bonnet. I had to keep backing off, I was sure it was a NA at the time, he certainly seemed to be "going for it" but he ended up just getting in the way.

Anyone else think beemer drivers get a bad press, I have always found them to be very courtious, always letting me out from side roads etc.
Now Lexus drivers are by far the worst (especialy that 4x4 thing)
BMW drivers get a bad press because there are a lot on the road = more a55holes, if there were as many subarus on the road as beemers there would be just as many twonks driving them.

Even the normal Mini Cooper can shift a bit once its rolling, I had a tussle with one when I'd first got my WRX (prior to PPP) and was quite surprised.
