I think you might be confusing this with the 1.8T 150bhp PETROL version??

No IAM NOT. Go to a dealer and ask to see a GTI with the 150 bhp diesel unit. If he has one, take a walk round the back and look at the badge on the boot

FYI that engine was also available for the anniversary mdel which had 18" BBS alloys and was indistinguishable from the petrol version. The 150 bhp pumpe dusse diesel is available badged GTI, honestly Please, someone back me up here

FLMFAO at this thread

This is more like the scoobynet of old

There's nothing quite like watching the original poster getting thrown to the wolves.

COME ON YOU REDS

Are you sure the "i" is Red and not WR Blue? Is this something you've read on here too??

Aw, I cant let this go on, I've had to change my pants on more than 1 occasion when I've pi$$ed myself laughing

This was received this morning for my local dealership. The humble pie for breakfast was very tasty.
However, I do know that this is a recent change to MY03 cars. Prior to that we had TDi badges.

Subject: Badges??

Hi there,

Really sorry to bother you with such a stupid question but it would clear up a debate I’m involved in.

Badges??

What badge does a Mk4 Golf GT TDI PD150 wear (and the other PD diesels come to that)

If I saw a GTi badge on a Mk4 Golf that was a silver GT and a red “i”, which model would that be?

Many thanks in advance for your time. Maybe I can put this argument to bed once and for all

Regards,

David Lewis,

There you go, straight from the horses mouth not mine

Can we call a truse now?

By the way David, when I was enquiring (January 2003) it was available then with the GTI badge (red "i"). Not sure before that time. The model I test drove was a silver 3 door. I was quite astonished that it wore that badge seeing as it was a TDI. To be honest I nearly bought one, what with 40+ mpg everywhere it was VERY tempting. I just couldn't bring myself to part with my MY02 wagon though

I think we should give Blueto a break.
Instead the culprit whoever put forward the "ludicrous" (Beckham quote) assertion that the STi come in red.

Ok, fair enough, truse....

And to make you feel better.... this is evidence that they really do come with the GTi badge, 03 plate....

Bluto, you may notice the 17" Santa Monica wheels here on mine, and if you know as much about VW's as you appear to do, you'll also know that with the wheel upgrade option, you get the sports tuned suspension

So, I can assure you, this car is like no bloody Vauxhall Vectra....

Simon

PS. Didn't wash it for this photo shoot specifically, was a piccie I took a few a while ago...

Ok, truse I guess I did twist a few truths to make you look stupid. But it was entertaining

BTW wagons rule (I had one for nearly 4 years), but I guess us VDUB owners took offence that their is no such thing as a performance diesel.
I've just had mine Revo'd. 195bhp, 290lbft of torque. Traction control kicks in from a standing start through the first 3 gears. Once at 60, I still think it will give some good cars a run for their money (and certainly standard WRX's), but just dont ask me to go round corners. Handles ok. but nothing like a scoob.

Shame ur not local, I'd love to demonstrate it.
