Might have some 2mm stuff lying about, if not it's cheap enough in small sheets from model engineering suppliers.
I had no problems at all with my V2 GruppeS headers and solid H&S uppipe until I switched from a H&S 2.5" to a H&S 3" DP. One of the effects of this was that the DP was a very slightly different shape and it has moved the turbo/uppipe slightly, enough for the header->uppipe joint to squeal until it gets hot. I was going to try a thin s/s spacer between 2 gaskets but I think a thin copper gasket might be just the ticket.

How long have you had yours welded for john?
Mig or Arc?
I would have thought that with mig the penetration would not be deep enough and there is a possibility of cracking at high temps due to the dissimilar metals, ie filler and headers.

Don't know how they were welded, it is a nice smooth round of metal to me m8
I've had it hot enough/enough power/bad enough tuning (delete as appropriate) to kill a piston and a few headgaskets, probably been welded for about 10000 miles now.

Like I said - I've had enough.............. So will see how my new headers (GT Spec 2 Gen from the States) and up-pipe cope (3 bolt up-pipe!) at about 58mm all through..
Just need to sort out my faulty Turbo.( Turbo Dynamics) also...........
Maybe one day I'll be able to drive my Scoob on the road again..........!!

The way I was looking at it was to weld the flanges together, which gives about at least 12mm of metal to weld into at the thinest point. Using arc, penetration will be much deeper. I don't have an arc welder though.
Also material wise I don't think my headers are stainless, so I don't know which filler to use.
