Are people really this vindictive?

In my mind dinks and keying someone's pride and joy are in the same league. If people dont have the brainpower or manors to hold their door as they exit/enter their vehicle then they deserve everything they get! If you've got even a remote chance of getting back at these heartless goits then I'd go for it in a blink. Do us proud mate, get one back for the rest of us!

Nail 'em.
Seriously though, why do some people seem to follow this 'herding effect'?
I've just come back from my gym which has a very large car park. As I got there at the gymsa peak period (Ie loads of cars) I had to park the sccob on its own at the back.
When I went back to it some ****** in a huge Mitsubishi 4x4 had parked RIGHT next to me. I had to struggle like **** to get in - and yet there wasn't a single other car anywhere near mine.
Maybe s/he also drove an Evo and has a problem with scoobs!

Tiggers, you got to pursue this one mate ,dont let the w@nkers get away with it..
everyday now i keep wondering why do peole have to be so ignorant, and its not just in carparks its everywhere you go
neighbour just told me he was at supermarket and as he left there was an elderly couple in front of him as he reached the exit, the old lady was being supported by the trolley as much as pushing it, and right in the middle of the exit was a young lad just standing in the doorway being a t!t, when the old lady asked if he could move to let her passed she was then subject to a tirade of abuse from the boys scally of a mother along the lines of "who do you think you are, what are you saying to my son, my son can do what he likes" all more colourfully than i've said here though..
needless to say neighbour stepped in and told scally how "unreasonable/obnoxious" she was being ...
us decent/reasonable people gotta make a stand!!
by the way mate ,can thoroughly recommend the services of a company called "Dent wizard" , had 2 2inch creases in back door, didn't even have to get car out of garage ,15 mins later both dents just seemed to have vanished
if i hadn't seen before and after i wouldn't of believed it!
good luck
eric

The key information in the original post is "laughed" it's one thing to be clumsy/lazy/ignorant/accident-prone and causing the damage ,one would look at the dent and be sorry, but to look and laugh would indicate that they are borderline defective on the IQ scale and are in fact thick as a pig manure, and just don't 'get' society and it's value/moral structure, they should in fact be pitied, but 'ain't it just easy to hate them.

This is why I now selfishly take 2 spaces most places I park, I would prefer not too but my old classic got dented all over and Im not letting my MY03 end up the same.
Good luck following up these scummers

F**k it, I've had it with pric*s like this, a damn good kneecapping is worth paying for the damage yourself. £150 for both knees .... so I've been told you understand
Whichever route you decide mate I hope it gets sorted ... as painfully as possible.
" So many dickhea*ds, so little time ..."
I feel your pain mate

This happened to me last year in Westward Ho of all places. The thing is. I think the guy who did it actually spoke to me afterwards!
I'd left the car in the car park in a corner all on it's own. Whilst I was in a surf shop, some guy comes up to me and says "You've got a nice car". "How do you know?" I asked him. "Well I saw you getting out of it" was the reply and then he walked off. When I got back to the car there was a nice 3 inch vertical dent in the drivers door.
There was just something not quite right about the guy that spoke to me, I'm sure it was him!

To answer the thread title - sadly yes. Met up with an old pal last night. He's retired, not a lot of spare cash, and looks after his pride and joy, a nice little Proton. Went to babysit for a relative and came out to find that 5 panels had been keyed. £1200 worth. Why???????? DL.

OK update time.
Seems like bad news - the car park tell me the plate of the offending vehicle is not clear on the CCTV recording as it is partially obscured by a pillar. They are going to see if they can get it from the recording when the vehicle arrives or leaves, but as the recording is somewhat unclear anyway they are doubtful.
I am going to meet with the car park security people over the weekend just to ensure everything is as described if you see what I mean.
Ajax, Thanks for the offer, but it was in NW England.
tiggers.

just report it to the cops, send a copy of the tape to them and notify your insurance - the insurance (at least mine) will find these people and drag the money out of them.
good luck.

Outside my own house... careless neighbours...
My front bumber normally gets the worst of it, on 2 occasions now, parked in front of my own home someone has grazed the front of the corner as they have pulled out...
The second seems like a scrape or something along the front side of the bumper...
I have left them as they are because when touching them up, they can look a little more obvious...
But I hate it and get really annoyed... Whenever I wash the car (by hand always) I begin to notice new scratches, grazes, indents...
Even my dads prestine Golf now has been dented... and it makes it worse when its on a nice shiny part of the body...
GGrrr...

This place can remove dents that you wouldnt have thought possible they took a dent out of my MR2 front windscreen pillar, no idea how they did it but I was amazed. Well worth a try if you have just had your car damaged by some jealous arsehole.

It's getting worse...
I'm very tempted to leave the (comparatively mild) keying my car has gotten just to discourage someone from coming along and doing a proper job.

I really feel for you, I once had the most prestine MY00 you could possibly imagine. It was just over 3yrs when I sold it and it was still in excellent condition.
My life was a living hell keeping it that way though, I was paranoid about parking it and it never ever saw a public car park unless I was sitting in it while waiting for the Wife to finish her shopping.
Now it's sold and I am back in a crap mobile my life is a lot more worry free but I would still never intentionally wack my door on the car next to me, that is just pure jealousy.

Please don't let this go, I've probably spent about £400 having dents, scratches and scrapes sorted out.
Had my bugeye's bumper scraped 4 days after buying it and then it got done again on average every few months (careless car park users denting and scratching it), and the new one just got a scratch from another to$$er in a car park and i've only had it 5 months.
I just bought a car for £500 for everyday use and i'm gonna keep the scoob for evenings and weekends.
I hate those peoples attitudes about damaging nice cars, i worked b1oody hard so i could buy a scoob and these pikey to$$ers think its funny that its gonna cause me aggro and cost me money having it repaired - bring back hanging!!! - Please don't let them get away with it

Now I know that they slammed the door into your car but it is definitely worth getting them out to take a look as they may be able to get the persons prints. Only a slim chance but if they were laughing and pointing then the likelihood is that they have had a run in with the police before.
Just wanted to say I am not a copper so don't take any of this as read. Just my 2p's worth.
Hope you get it sorted. It is incredibly annoying and frustrating but just think of the satisfaction if they catch those bar****ds.
Good luck.

Looks like everyone has seen this thread apart from Tiggers
I only topped it as I've just had my car keyed and was trawling through old threads - this one is over 6 months old now so advice to Tiggers may be a little late.
Nice to see everyone's concerned but this one has probably run its course.
