Thanks Tony

Now, is the STI panel filter your using the "STI Panel Filter" for £47 or the "Spec C Twin Scroll JDM Panel Filter with Nitrided Frame" that Greasemonkey was talking about ?

Also, where did you buy it from ?

All those people that wanted to know why i didnt answer, well ive been working away this week so there

I should state that my car will gain the highest from one of these filters due to the restrictiveness of the filter that was in there, some people may not get these sort of gains but you will get gains overall (if replacing the original filter) plus this i think is a cotton filter so is dry rather than one soaked in nasty gunky oil which will drip into your air box but the car does sound louder now its fitted (taking into consideration my car doesnt have any soundproofing here!)

Hi Tony,

Thanks for all the advice. Sounds good. When you say:
due to the restrictiveness of the filter that was in there

what did you have in there before that was different to the original??

We are actually talking about an Official STi product here, not the bit of paper subaru uk shove in

So Tony.

Is the Crap piece of paper filter Subaru UK fit, the same as the crap standard filter Subaru Japan fit ?

or is the JDM filter crapper than the UK one ?

Just trying to assertain if fitting this STI filter in my car will give similar results.

Its probably the same cr@ppy one they fit to all of the STi's as the airbox on the new age STi's is the same size, open your airbox up, if it looks orange (could possably be a different colour?) then hey presto

Thumbs up

i've just fitted the s/mania STi filter today. The old orange coloured one certainly looked pretty knackered. As far as i'm concerned there is a small difference in terms of noise when the turbo spools up and a slight increase in pull at high revs. Having said that, i only fitted it today and may be trying to justify the £50 just spent! It should prove more useful when i go for TEK3 some time this year....
