I was wondering what would be the cheapest to run and insure?

Funny thing is....it has a remote control CD player, full new exhaust, new tyres, road tax, long MOT.....which, if you add it up, comes to about 500quid!!!!
Also gets me 42-45mpg genuine.
Lot of car for your money.......recommend!

ARM-scooby,
I was in the same boat couple of years ago and bought a uno diesel, super mota you can get a m reg for 400 notes in top condition, done 20 tho in it no problems at all,the wife is a courier and hammers it down rough country lanes daily,i enjoy driving it as much as the scoob and the ride and cornering is great.Leave it anywhere and so cheap to run.
Forget all the crap people say about fiats i bought my first uno turbo 15 years ago and have had 7 unos as runabouts while driving better cars and never been let down by one or had any major grief from them.
Got 2 diesels at the moment, bought the 2nd 1 off ebay 3 months ago paid £390 ,70 k,mint,2 owners it was only up the road from me as well so had to have it.
They r cheap to run as the oil filter off a sierra diesel is half the price of the uno one and fits no probs and the fuel filter is a dear cartridge one but you just swop that for a pug 1 that takes elements.
Go look on ebay now but never pay more than £400 for a m,n as they dont sell that well cos most people have not heard of them.
Cheers Paul

When I was last in the UK I was running around in one of the last Pug 309 diesels. It was no ball of fire, but I only needed to give it regular servicing (oil/filters) and a set of front disks (100 quid, fitted). I got an average of 46mpg for about 15,000 miles. I paid 800 quid for it and sold it about 18 months later for 750 quid. Cheap motoring !

I have picked up a Ka. I fancied a smart, phil (neoquip) had persuaded me on the funky smart site, but i looked into insurance and so on and found it cheaper on the Ka, plus there new motors are only 300 squid more than the 1 year old used motors.
Picking it up tomorrow, just in time for scoob to head into the garage for Le Mans preperations.
£160 fully comp, with the g/f, fully protected and an excess of £0, cant really complain

lol, smart was the one initially, but over everything the Ka won. I think i would have been modding the smart if i had it, at least all efforts are directed to the scoob now!
