Can someone please explain to me the attitude of...

I always move out of the way of motorbikers when I'm driving, and generally they thank you in return which is nice.
However, please remember that not all motorcyclists are saints on the road, and they aren't always courteous in turn to the people at the bottom of the road user's food chain. I am a keen cyclist, and last weekend someone on a motorbike came past me on a slight left curve in the road at what must have been warp speed. He was leaning over towards me and it felt very close - he must have been doing between 80 and 100 mph.
I've experienced this lack of consideration a number of times from motorbikers. It's annoying because as a car driver I'm aware of those who are more vulnerable on the road (motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians etc..), and I try to act appropriately to ensure their safety.
Generally though, motorcyclists are better than car drivers because they are more aware.
