I managed to go to China & Indonesia through work. The great Wall is truly amazing as is Tiananmen square. Stayed a week in Bali which was heaven then went to the next island along, Sumatra and got chased by the indonesian mafia all over the place!

Lake Garda, and the excursion to Venice whilst there.
A stay in a summer cottage on one of Finland's lakes, west of Helsinki - will never forget the "floating pub"
, and eating fresh crayfish washed down with vodka.
St Ives in Cornwall - still one of the most gorgeous holiday towns I've ever stayed in.
Sorrento - sitting outside the hotel bar at night, with the view across the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius looming behind. Fabulous.

Absolutely hated the place. A completely overrated dump which is about as romantic as herpes.

Watching the sunset from my Dad's balcony in Negril, Jamaica, ater he retired out there.
Flying over Lake Biakal, Siberia, and seeing the bottom through nearly a mile of water.
Going back to Biakal in the winter for cold weather flight testing. (Cold weather? No ****)
The Nurburgring.
Seeing the sun come up over Circuit Paul Ricard and knowing I only had another 2 race sessions before we finished.
Seeing the curvature of the earth out of an F14
But the best, most memorable of all?
St Helier Hospital, Sutton at 05:48 on 28th June 2001 watching my daughter being born![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Again in no particular order.........
Niagra Falls- I've been lucky enough to go to Canada several times and see the falls from every angle, My favourite has to be on the " Maid of the mist " Followed by seing it from the American side.
CN Tower, Toronto- HOW HIGH? What a structure, and I'm not talking about what formed in my pants on the lift ride up!! Glass floor is pretty cool as well.
Dominican Rep.- Never seen sunsets like it...............
Mexico ( Cancun )- Great history, Beautifull beaches and cool night life.
In the future???? We're off to the Maldives later in the year so will be looking forward to the peace and quiet and plenty of scuba diving............
Steve.

Eygpt,we did a mini 2 day cruise from Cyprus to port siad where we were coached across the desert to Cairo.because the locals had been taking pot shots at tourists we had armed police (well teenagers with rifles in the back of tatty toyota hilux's) escorting us.
Cairo city was a dump with traffic everywhere.popular transport was Renault 12's and pug 504's usually with bits of wrought iron work fixed to thier extremeties to protect their lights. The constant use of your horn was compulsory.
the museum and pyramids were breath taking but it was a shame about the beggars trying to sell you crap every 60 seconds.
Excellent place for a 2 day stop over but i wouldn't recomend it as a holiday destination.
The ride back across the desert (now dark) was done with just the lead and tail convoy coaches using lights, the rest of us in black out mode.(bullet dodging again).
When we reached port siad the coaches all sound thier horns to alert the beggars onto the streets for another round of trying to sell stuff no one wanted.
To get back on the ship you had to walk on what looked like wooden pallets tied to oil drums (the oldies struggled big time).
This was back in the early 90's and was a fantastic experiance despite my painting such a negative picture.

Was in Mozambique a couple weeks ago, no roads (in this part), and just the vastness of the place is incredible!!
You can drive along these flat grass/bushlands, and not see any people for miles, and crossing the border there is interesting, the border guards can be a bit moody.
It'll certainly stick in my memory, you get told not to stray off the paths, as there are literally hundreds of landmines still scattered everywhere.

Dun Aengus, Inishmore, Aran Islands off Galway Ireland. Bronze age hill fort on the cliff edge. Lie down and poke your head over the edge and look down 100m vertical to watch the big Atlantic waves hammer into the cliff bottom. You can feel the impact through your chest
Iceland - the scale of the scenery is awesome. Travelling around the island on Route 1 in a 4x4 and looking across at the fingers from Europe's biggest glacier make their way down to the sea. The air was so clear you think it's just 5 miles away, then the map tells you it's 70 miles away !
Plockton, Wester Ross, Scotland. Paddling canoes in benign sea conditions and watching seals sillouetted against the white sand zipping beneath the canoe.
And from Thursday this week, Tateyama in Japan in the Japan North Alps, amazing journey to get there by funicular and bus, road cut through snow 8 to 10 metres deep at times. Camped in the snow at 2400m (>8,000ft) with the smell of sulphurous air in the nostrels, waking up to blue skies and 3000m peaks.
