The Scooby Wave
#31
My girlfriend keeps asking "do you know them" whenever i wave at another scooby. I keep forgetting when i'm out in her car (fiat punto) and still wave at other scoobs, funnily enough no one waves back then.

I'm a new(ish) owner, and one of the reasons for buying the car was the wave. (Sad but true). So if I don't wave it's because I didn't see you!
The most frustrating thing is being in a different car, maybe as a passenger. I try not to wave, but it's so hard that sometimes a wave slips out almost by reflex. No response then.

I always give a little wave or a nod. Even to a chav as I'm ripping past his 1.2 nova with smoke pouring out of his exhaust because he's trying to push past 40mph. Seems to annoy them for some reason.

03 blobeye driver and definate Wavey Davey. Only time I don't is if rapid removal of a finger from my nostrils would result in serious injury
Waved at an STi7 and 8 just today, both responded

I wave at any impreza, blob-eye, bug-eye, classics inc sports, usually i find that if you flash your lights and do the wave, they wave back thinking they know you, if not then you do look like a complete ****, exspecially when theres people in the car with you. Also i get evo 6's waving, probably ex scoob owners who want to be a part of our really cool scooby waving.

West Wales scoobs do wave but not often. I do whether the misses thinks its gay or not!

Yeah I'm a waver - the worst thing tho is when you keep waving at a regularly seen scoob that you KNOW doesn't wave back!
And yeah its soo hard to remember when you're not driving the scoob, in fact thats the time I always end up seeing loads and am just dying to wave but know I'd just look a tw*t!

The polite raised finger or three off the top of the steering wheel and quick full beam flash is my usual greeting to other scoobs, I almost always get the wave back. The wife always takes it a bit further and does the full-on hand waving frantically (just to embarrass me for being a Scooby-nut in the first place). She'd do a Mexican wave if she could...

I think you'll find a certain silver classic and a green classic wagon in these parts will and do indeed wave. <good job you pre-warned this post at the boozer tonight>
Our second car is an 04 Wagon GX Sport. I have NEVER gotten a wave back when driving it!
Sports are the route to Turbo's for many of us, so give 'em a wave and make 'em feel welcome.

i always wave (well okay maybe not wagons)
maybe sti8 owners are usually stuck up thier own **** cos they can afford em
only reason i got 1 is cos my dad (god bless him) died and i spent his money wisely!

May I make a suggestion? The ordinary scooby wave takes no account of whether the driver is a scoobynetter; in order to identify ourselves, why not use a single digit wave, a victory 'V', or a Gareth Hunt Bean-shake when we see other scooby drivers?
Just a thought.
