Thanks to every one who has posted. Still not sure what to do. My head says why spend what is quite a chunk of cash and take what is a typical big whack of Subaru depreciation for a car which is in so many ways similar.
Then the little devil which is my heart says"Go on, you know it makes sense, buy it, buy it!!!
Having had time to be a little more subjective about the test drive in the Evo the main feature that sticks in my mind is the difference in the handling. The power in the FQ 330 is not that different apart fom the way it's delivered. The scooby if anything feels a little more explosive, more lag, but a bigger bang when the boost arrives.
The big doubt in my mind is will I have the same dilema in 6 or 12 months if buy the Evo as familiarity breeds contempt.
I think I will wait until I can get a test drive in a proper MR 340 before I make a final decision.
