OK - being controversial here.
I'm not absolving the parents in anyway - but these kids are growing up in an environment where images of torture are paraded across our TV screen every day. In a kids mind if it's "OK" to be evil to another human then animals are clearly dispensible.
Of course most families have good solid parenting to stop kids going off the rails, but we all have a degree of responsibility for the world that we live in.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I am passionate about animals, but at the moment I am way more upset about all the war, torture and behadings of humans going on.
Why is the world such a horid place at the moment - where are there any good enws stories..?

When people are that age they get their values from their peers and their parents. The lack of morals and bad behaviour these children display is a *direct* result of poor parenting.
All this wooly liberal, politically correct, 'blame it on society' clap trap is no way to excuse the facts.

I'm with UB on this one. No point blaming society - it's upbringing that is the problem.
The kids are sadistic little ******* because the parents are probably exactly the same and they'll be just the type to jump up and down screaming blue murder if the law or anyone else lays a finger on their precious children all the while expecting the rest of society to do their parenting for them.
The only thing they'll understand is if someone gives them (both the scumbag parents and the scrotey little sadists) a lesson in how that wallaby must have felt if you get my drift.
tiggers.
P.S. If any of this seems harsh then please bear in mind I am involved in the tiger conservation program desparately trying to prevent tigers being poached out of existence. Kids kicking an animal to death sits rather heavily on my heart especially as we're supposed to be the intelligent ones.

tiggers, I know it doesn't happen much mate but I totally and utterly agree with what you said.
The sooner these little B's get some discipline installed the better.
John.
Words fail me. Sick f**ks!
Sorry to all you social worker do gooder types out there, but these kids need a seriously good kicking as that is the only language they will understand. Then they're parents need a dose of the same.
In fact there's a lot of parents and their kids in the UK that would benefit from some of this sort of treatment.

You don't have to be able to read or have a great degree of understanding when you're 8 to figure out what the great big colour pics on the front of every paper are about.
But it goes beyond that - as I said, I'm not absolving the parents in anyway - but where did they get their morals from? And their parents? At some point we have to stop pointing the finger at someone else and take some responsibility for the state of things. We can't change the whole world but how many of us are trying to change our little bit of it for the better? Or is it just easier to bitch about how wrong everyone else is getting it?
The kids are little *******, but if, as you're saying, they're not old enough to read and understand the news, are they old enough to know right from wrong? I think the law says they're not old enough to do that until they're 10 years old. Even my cat knows when it's done something wrong!

Its amazing how a child under the so called age of criminal responsiblity can get away with this sort of thing. They won't get prosecuted because they are too young. FFS if they are old enough to commit a criminal act they should be treated accordingly!
It's a simple case of knowing right from wrong and this kind of behaviour is certainly wrong. Bet you they spouted off all their 'rights'at whoever had the misfortune to speak to the families concerned though.
