if you want it, go for it. as people have stated, if it's fitted correctly you'll have no worries.

don't worry what people say, modifying is all about putting your mark on your car, it won't apeal to everyones taste but it's not their car at the end of the day is it!

if you do fit it just don't do what this **** did on the m25 the other day, car in the outside lane(won't name it but it wasn't a scoob) R1 a bit close behind it, suddenly whooosh out belched a large flame almost touching the biker. one pissed off biker then pulls out(in?) to undertake pulls a wheelie and gives him the finger as he blasts by

top stuff mr R1! top **** the car driver, especially as you did it again to a car that got to what you think is too close

anyway, getting away from all the slagging off and back to the reason this thread started....

i havent noticed any damage to the rear bumper/paintwork, however i dont rev it up and chuck flames out whilst the car is stationary which I would think is where you could cause damage.

as for the rest of you slagging every1 off for having one, each to their own, your entitled to your opinions.

i think it looks gr8 when we're in convoy and there's all these scoobs chucking out flames.

Attention seeking: **** YE!!! loud, noisy and flaming wot better way to get looks

honestly tho, the main reason i went for a flamer kit in the beginning is that I was so pi$$ed off with ***** sitting on my rear bumper whilsty driving or at lights that i thought a quick blast of some flames would solve this, AND IT DID!!!

but now I just love it!!!

The usual measure I apply is to ask "would James Bond do it ?"

Piddly little flames are no use to man nor beast, if it can't incinerate an Hummer at 50 metres, it's not worth having !

each to their own but the thing is they aren't the proper flames that make cars look great.

I am agree that flames look cool, but only the short blue cones that you get from running rich on overun or gear changes. The standard candle type flame has blatantly come from someone igniting the exhuast unnaturally, which is why it looks like you are pretending a little. Its normal to do it to lesser lower power max power type cars so why do it to an impreza? Its like fitting that speaker which generates a dump valve noise on a car which has no turbo. You have a turbo so why bother? get yourself some real type flames, not the obviously fake ones.

Scooby-si, yours doesn't count as yours has anti lag which is the epitome of not gay!

I fitted mine about a year ago so that I could get the flames without having to rev the nuts off of the car.
During that time I've had countless "cool" comments a few "concerned" coments from folk at traffic lights and a few "That's rubbish" comments. Generally from other scoob owners

To answer the question "Why do it to a scoob?" well I did it because I think it suits the car. It makes a lot of noise (Exhaust, induction, dump valve) it looks agressive (Scoops, spoilers etc) So people who don't know how scoobs work are generally impressed more by a scoob flaming than a "lesser" car. They don't know its a flame kit, to them it justs adds to the wow factor of seeing/hearing a scoob do it's thing. It's not a posing thing with me, it's a completion of an image for people who just see it as a cool fast noisy car.

After a years worth, there has been no damage to the car, no police action and no harm done. It's as much fun as a big scooby doo head stuck on ya back window

To my mind there is no shame in patriotism or taking pride in the national flag of where you come from.

Mud flaps actually help reduce stone chips as well you muppet

My philosophy applies whether you are adding any mods, decals or accessories, if you want one go get it and enjoy
This includes flamer kits.LOL

And no I dont have a flamer kit purely because it's not for me but I do know plenty with and they do look good on some of the cars

Forgot to add your all so GAY arnt you or should I say happy

I think its each unto their own, the people that dont like them probably cant have them................. the wife says NO ( i know mine would ) the people that have them enjoy them... end of

but people have a right to speak their mind saying things are gay in this context does not mean YOU ARE GAY it means they think they're gay looking...... whatever the hell that means..

enjoy your flamers everyone

Kudos to those with nicely tweaked performance engines that produce a flash of blue flame naturally on gear changes etc..

but, flamer kits,to my mind, are no better than those artificial dump valve noise kit thingies that are available for n/a cars on e-bay.

Artificial flames aren't gay tho.....but,they are,IMHO, completely bloody naff

surely image is about how you appear to other people? if that isn't about posing then what is.

You can't see it yourself so surely you are only doing it for the benefit of other people to make them look at your car.

if that isn't posing then what is?

IMHO.

Flammer kits fall in to the same camp as the decals...neons and such like.

Fine if you are under 25ish. Any older and tis a bit sad.

I'm thinking of fitting one to my RAV4 because of all the Portuguese drivers that get so close. Adding a gay kit to a gay car should make me extremely gay.

My reasoning being, with so many men already trying to drive up my **** every day, I might as well convert and enjoy it

Im with you too madjay2.

Yes my gold 18" Prodrive alloys, my pink badge and my carbon fibre WRC spoiler is gay... As well as my STi bodykit is gay..

Modding a car is for me, really about taking a car and making it better.
If you have a car and mod it to a point where it looks beter than original and people stare then are these people that mod their cars posers..?

If so then i guess most of the best looking scooby owners here are gay then... lol

I would say if you want a flamer kit then go for it. Don't be put off with some peoples sturn voices on here as most are either up their **** or are at an age where they have forgot all about fun and pleasure... Old gits!! lol
