Ever thought of coming to your senses and buying a Corolla GTI instead....no image or handling probems, and it'll never break down...just a thought!

I had two Astra 16V GTEs from new. The second one came with analogue instruments in place of the digital electronics and an LSD direct from the factory in Germany. Got just over 200bhp from it for not a lot of effort. Totally reliable, could be driven foot on the floor, mile after mile on the autoban and fuel economy was very good when cruised or driven with restraint. Probably a bit quicker than any lightly modded UK Scoob both cross country and top speed. Minor mods made it a very surefooted vehicle.

Yeh Midlife, mine ended up been stolen too and was never seen again. I had a radio scanner at the time and actually listened to the police chasing it 5 times through the night !!!!!!!! - they didnt catch it............

Are those quater times good, bad or indifferent - someone must have something to compare to it ? Car had a full janspeed exhaust, K&N panel filter & ofcourse full suspension kit (which the azzy deffo needed, but was v.good when done) - no other mods.

Still, the blue flame as big as the car which came out the back was pretty to look at
