Great fun everyone, and considering the heat I was very happy with my first event and a time of 15.55 in the 205 (especially with knackered piston rings), and consistent 60ft times of 2.4 secs.
Tried my best to blow it up all day but it just kept coming back for more.
Thanks to everyone one there, and to Chris/Peccy for organising.

I was the one doing the gassing (with the barbecue), wandering around like a kid with a new toy with my camera... Because I am a kid with a new toy
Old rivals?
Good advice
Cheers,
Nick.

Is there a full entry list available somewhere? Interested in putting vehicle types against times in the 'other' list for benchmarking purposes. Actually would be interesting to compare scoobs of different specs as well.
Was the silver bugeye that ran completely standard? If so what times?

Northern Ireland Subaru entries
Great event. i would like to thank Peccy and the organisers for a well run organised event. the Northern Ireland boys didn't disgrace themselves with two subarus that ran pretty respectable times considering that
1. they were not dedicated 1/4 mile race cars
2. they are daily drivers that do about 20000 miles a year and have to be very reliable
3. they were using standard pump fuel, (a full tank in my case)
4. they both were using standard road tyres, no grippy slicks
5. no nitrous or fuel additives
6. we drove them down from Belfast through Scotland and raced with all our overnight luggage and usual crap, no stripping out off interiors/spare tyres etc, no tweaking ecus midway thru the qualifying either.
7. warren copeland's car is still using standard internals (pistons and conrods)and a standard drive drain(uk 5MT)
8. we drove them back to belfast after the event.
not taking anything away from the Calder cars and i don't want this to sound like sour grapes, but i think we surprised a lot of subaru owners out there, about 50 of them in fact. we will see you all next year when hopefully with a few more mods we will do even better.
cheers

The shootout was great. when the first few car set off setting their times, they seamed sooo fast to me as i have not been to an event like this before. I loved it. unfortunately i could not stay untill the end.
What did that darg bike do in his final time? the last time that i herd before i went was 8.99? did he go faster, ot what that his final run?
p.s. i am devently going next year for the hole day!!!

Think he may have done 8.93 in the end.
Re the fuel thing, wish I had realised not to put too much fuel in - had a near full tank of optimax all day (still have half a tank now after 60 miles drive home)

Never done anything like this before & I gotta say that prior to the engine lunching itself it was a great day. My very first run was:
reaction time - 1.894
1/4 mile - 12.84
Terminal Speed - 100mph
At this point (around) 11.30am I was running 8th from my first run but was unable to defend my position due to technical difficulties resulting in a withdrawal
Gutted they didn't record my top speed as the speedo was over 170mph. Buggers!!
I'd like to say a few thanks to the people that aided me when no.1 went after the end of the spark plug came off:
Mark Aigen
Pat
David Taylor
David Wallis
Dyney
ScoobyDuck
If i've missed anyone i'm sorry but I didn't know everyones names. A big thanks to you as well
Thanks You guys for diagnosing the problem but i'd like to say a special thanks to Adam from ScoobyClinic who arranged for the car to be collected on a flatbed & taken to ScoobyClinic for a full diagnosis. Much appreciated

Yes they were filming for men and motors.
While i'm here i'd just like to say thanks to all you people for making it a great day for me. Beat last years time of 13.47 with a 13.11 so i'm well happy. After running the car in that heat i think its time to look into a cold air feed of some sort. and a water spray wouldn't hurt either i think. Any idea's?
Cheers
