Maffa was in the White one with a gorgeous chromed/polished/yellow samcoed engine.
Any news from the clinic yet? (I was the guy in the Mitsu shirt driving the GTO behind you)?
PTMW, I did see you, I even parked next to you when I got to the event! I was just collecting my results when you pulled up to collect your slips before a run. I didn't want to stop you, as I know what it feels like in the staging lanes!
Thanks to everyone for a great day out. Any chance I can pre-book an invite place for next year, as I would love to run when the nitrous actually works!!!!

the film crew were actually ours, we are releasing the event on dvd when its edited etc. some footage may well be shown later on m+m, plus redline magazine will be doing a big feature in the mag, i believe they interviewd most of the top runners.
the film crew got some good incar footage from a lot of cars, and the drag shootouts, plus the incar 201mph supra run, which i believe got a bit lairy according to Dee when dust and crap started swirling aorund inside the cockpit at 200mph!
cheers

No probs PTMW, I see you was younger than I thought!!!! Must have been 'cos you drive a wagon, you know stereotypes and all that!
I have an A5 laminated sign to go in my windscreen that has my forum name and avatar on from the GTOUK owner's club. It also has my spec list so anyone can see what the car is, and who it beloongs to at meets. I didn't bother displaying it at SS, as it seemed pointless (not being a Scooby and all that!).

good luck with the car Maffa

hoot
What a hoot! And I was soooooo c**p!!!!! Great to enjoy yourself when performing like a pillock (a bit like sex on 10 pints did someone say?).
Best I could manage in the old P1 was 13.94 at 97 - and I thought that was my worst effort!!!!
Redline in all gears; switch at around 6K; mix 'n' match - I just couldn't get it together - and I loved it. A full tank of petrol, spare wheel and assorted other things in the car probably didn't help (matched with slow reactions of an old and slow geezer). But, and this is the big but - the virgin dragster (me) is deflowered!
Sadly, only managed a few runs - my son was getting a bit bored watching the old man repeatedly fail to do the motor justice so we left early.
I definitely agree that competitors and cars should have name tags - I've been on snet for years and recognise so many names but not faces (and many would probably recognise my name after weeks and weeks selling the "probably the best wagon in the UK" complete with the worst jokes ever heard).
Anyway, mucho mucho thanks to all the organisers and here's to the next one. Now where did I put Bob Rawle's number...?

Just to make you feel worse, it was my first time - 205 with knackered Mi16 engine (only about 140bhp at the mo), full tank of fuel, full 1.9 spare (but no rear seats) - 15.55 secs at 87mph

Was a good day indeed, did anyone else notice their times get slower as the day went on? My terminals went steadly slower on each run. Second run was my best 14.90@90mph which I was pleased with. Dreamweaver get that engine sorted and you'll definatly get into the 14s.

mine kept getting quicker, but that was down to me working out the best way to launch the car and balance power/wheelspin.
Didnt realise i was talking to you MAFFA, bling blinging in that engine bay. Hope its sorted soon.

Perhaps, one of the more interesting footage, may be of my 1/4 final run against Alan McRae. Scoobyduck stuck his cam corder to the rear window of my wagon.
Lets just say the last gear change will make you laugh
Scoobyduck, can you post a link up once you have sorted it
