New PPP (325Bhp) on the way
#31
Sorry chaps, bad day and having a bit of a rant. Last time the salesman said to me whatever you do, do not use Optimax as it will bugger up the car and run like a bag of spanners and then I get all excited over another 20BHP for no extra cost. Just to have my hopes dashed again.
PS I really want the STI from new so if all goes as planned will definately be ordering it.
Rant over, lets hope he is right and noone else knows about it yet (some chance (fingers crossed)).

I am of the the opinion that people love fishing on this site, and like nothing more than to dangle a bit of bait in the water and then watch people strike at the bait.
The answer is, if you don't like fishing, don't rise to the bait.
enough said.

Did Mike not already state that they have already taken the WR1, which at its core is basically a UK spec STI, as far as they can 'reliably'? If so then I'd presume (dangerous I know) a next gen. PPP more powerful then the WR1's is a non starter.

Baiting would be:
Prodrive are meant to be bringing out a "Prodrive TSL333 Upgrade with 3year warranty on all work".
And it will handle better than an EVO on Top Gears test track and be better for every day road use. LOL

FFS you lot!!
It's wrong......
There is no truth in the story.....
All reports are not based on fact......
End of thread please now.
I posted almost immediately that this was wrong in order to STOP any rumours that once repeated many times seem to become fact.

The question was 'is this accurate?' It's not, so it's inaccurate. Don't read anything more into it than that.

Mike is indeed incorrect.
The actual figure (and this has been verryfied by Gangst Smurf ))is 458 bhp.
The only change over the normal PPP is a decat and re-map.

Just to add some more fuel to the fire, the next STi due later this year has DCCD, more torque and tweaked suspension.
So depending on the revisions to improve torque then the PPP'ed version of this Sti might have higher output?
I knew that would happen just after I got my MY04 STi !!!
Things move on and get better, that's life.

The Auto Express piece was referring to the JDM cars which have more torque for 05MYand are NOT going be coming to the UK later this year.
This does not apply to any vehicles that are/will be officially sold in the UK.

That needed saying....
As Phil says, sometimes the gossip on this site tends to take on a life of it's own..
PS.
Daz34 I get at least 50bhp from my dump valve.... well ..... it sounds like 50bhp anyway!...

Greasemonkey,
It was, as Mike has pointed out too, from Auto Express and it will teach me to open my big gub without checking all the facts first.
Sorry Mike didn't read into it only being JDM's, I also annoyed my wife this morning about the same article, damn magazine.

No worries Bogie. I thought you were going to say it was the Auto Express article as what you'd written was too close to it to be coincidence. Unfortunately for every minute some of us spend stamping down silly rumours, the "journalists" at AE go and dredge up some more. They truly are the motoring equivalent of The Sun or the Daily Mirror.
