Tony the reason I didn't come over and this goes for the 22B, P1 owners etc is I have been to meets before and from experience the likes of yourselves don't like to mix with us classic 2000 turbo owners or that's the impression I have, maybe I am wrong. Maybe its because I look so young and have a shaved head.
Nice car though
Thanks to the Lord and friends a Great day on the whole topped NBO1...
sorry to hear there where thieves knocking about I always thought it was the safest place to be for our cars among so many people who share the same passion.

a Classic thread !!!!!
subtyper
You are now the Official NBO poet with a classic like the subaru prayer !!
Interesting debate.
Prehaps the few spec-r s can get together and form a club like the RB5 club which had a good turnout,
The coment about employing marshalls
Do you know how much security costs? probably the best part of £500 +for the day !!
Its no secret that the operatiing costs for the NBO 2 was under £100 !!
thats why i dont think it necessary to employ marshalls for the isolated incident of a girl reving up an engine
why could someone not go over and ask nicely to switch the engine off?
im sure she feels guilty now as she will be reading this
The 2 idiots at the end were chased off the field by ten of us straight away and i bet they wont do it again !!!
As far as marshalling was concerned there was 20 lads from cumbria/TTS who came after getting out of bed at 5am to ensure the day ran smoothly and did a great job .
i think this has been blown up out of proporation when safely behind a keyboard!!!!
chill out folks ########
ive just had a call from Cancer research praising us for half an hour for raising over £3000 quid !!!
and next year we will raise even more at the

I would say the rarest car there had to be Rob Neils old red classic, the only one of its kind in the world
Seen a Spec C, S202 etc etc, seen em all
the funny thing is, the 22b to me is one of the only scoob special edition that stands out more than others due its flared arches etc, but on saying that I see one most days, as a guy who works in the same building as me uses it most days for work, and he was at the NBO too
I had a great day out tho, some nice cars, to me im more interested on what developments have happened on friends, colleagues cars than seeing rare cars of owners that I dont know
It does seem to me that Tony's biggest gripe is that not enough people either came to speak to him about his 'special rare car' or take enough pics of it
Anyway Tony, havent you got a Sonic Blue classic

I was going to post something to you Mr Burns, but I think it's been said already.. I'm glad you can afford your car and I hope you enjoy it, I've got a 7 year old UK Turbo and it makes me smile everytime I drive it... shouldn't that be what owning a Subaru should be about...? I leave the technical stuff to the guys who service it..

plus his cars really ugly!!
not even got a spoiler
there was one i saw with red flames up the side! and colour coded engine bay, whose ever that was they had sweat blood to get that car looking like that, and it looked the muts nuts!
spec c? crap of the shelf stuff. you can never say its really yours, cus its just standard. play with it make it different be brave.
look at chrissys, that was awful when he first bought it, now i bet every member of scoobynet has either seen a pic of it or slobbered over it in the flesh, because he made an effort and made it his own.

i turned up in my my93 fully of dents, gaffer tape holding her together, front bumper needing fixing back on, paint faded, holes in the seats, side skirts scratched etc, but so wot, i was even on a end of a row so people had to walk past her.
i get just as much enjoyment out of her as anyone with a scooby.
its not about wot you drive, its about being part of somethind special!
as i said to someone the other week, we're just as bad as stamp collectors, train spotter, etc etc, at the end of the day its a hobby to most people on here, just with subaru's instead of trains..........

Sounds like a great day,
i'd class myself as a Scoob Enthusiast but im not really upto date on all the models and the slight differences, i guess its horses for courses,
i can see tony's point of view but also everyone else's.
wish id been there in my MY02 Sti of which there is only 1 in the WHOLE country, in fact in this spec i'd bet there is only one in the WHOLE WORLD but i dont go shouting about it too much

NBO - top day out. many thanks to the organisers. met a lot of familiar faces & several new ones (usernames to faces). lots of very special and clean looking cars.
i attended 'The Big One' in Nottingham a while back with bus dents/scrapes etc and my car was looking very shabby - but was still welcomed by all the Scooby faithful!
regardless of what variant you drive, you're still a Scooby owner in my eyes and Stis, RAs, Spec Cs, Type 25s, WR1s, P1s, blob eyes, bug eyes, classics, sports and GLs all wave back at me without predjudice!
my point Tony, is that (and I did notice your Spec C), probably 80% maybe 90% of us could have got upset that others were there with S202s, 22Bs, Spec Cs etc.. but we weren't. i don't understand why it should be an issue for you that peeps may not have mentioned or recognised your car?
i would even go so far as to say most of the older cars are more unique than your Spec C given the various modifications and transplants/conversions they have. but given that, we are all in it for and were there for the very same thing... enjoyment of Scooby ownership - not to throw dummies out of the pram for not being noticed.
i do think that it might be a good idea to have a stand with all the various models Subaru have manufactured right from the start to present day - would be intersting and perhaps educational for those less in the know. i trust you would be prepared to help the organising of that stand - could be you're own little project!
Thanks again to the organisers/marshals/attendees for a great day!

I thought it was nice to see all the RB5 owners parked together, think it would be great if we could get all different models to park together next time so youd have a line of RB5's then a line of terzos and a line of catalunyas etc etc, just a thought.
ohh btw not seen a pic of my car yet... how could u not notice it and yuo call yourselfs scooby enthusiasts

steve, mine does look ****e on the inside too.. granted.. thats a 94 interior (my00 seats tho) but worse so if I have to look at yours in the rear view mirror
Be nicer if you lined one of each car up.. to save walking past hundreds of scoobs with an airfilter, shiny wheels and big spoiler..
David

You shouldn't talk about tony's car like that...... I'm sure it has more than shiny wheels, air filter and big spoiler..... not much mind you
Granted you do have a 'little' bit more power than mine - thats when your cars on the road!!
