But Tel, surely these are the views of only a few peeps on a motoring forum, hardly representative of Scotlands whole population and of those disinterested in football generally. A bit like saying all English fans are thugs when we know it's only two or three people that cause trouble

Claire I am not offended by anything I am just fed up with people baiting each other and slagging off just for the hell of it, when I walked into work today I had **** from the Germans about it and amd still getting it from people as they see me, then I log on to scoobynet and the Scots are dishing out the ****, like I said earlier if it was one thread fine but it isn't it is about 6 threads on 4 different forums.

Its not just the papers, its the TV and radio. TBH the BBC has a lot to answer for. You get BBC Scotland, but there's no BBC England, is there?

Tel, you ever been to Wales or Ireland mate?

There is more Anti English feeling in some parts of Ireland and Wales than in the whole of Scotland.

But then, everone hates the Welsh

And try Cornwall that was an eye opener.

Ok, so what if we had just the one thread? To be honest, it has died down last time I looked! The English of all people should have plenty to say to the Germans

Wurzel, why does it bother you so much? It's only a stupid game, hardly a threat to world peace.

Where have I said hatred with regards to football? Age-old rivalry... my ***! There is pure hatred in what some Scots think of England and English people!

I have visited Scotland a few times, so have seen and heard it for myself, especially when Celtic played Liverpool in UEFA cup last year. Why do you think Diouf got fined.... did you think he was responded by spitting on a Scot to a complimentary remark - eh?

Lynne, thats a bit unfair

There are loads of English living happily all over Scotland, likewise loads of Scots in England.

If anything its a sweeping generalised bigotry

You also have to know that football as a game has its own supporter and player issues.

You would never find that kind of hatred anywhere but at a football match.

...so the non-english liverpool player was repsonding to an anti-english remark was he? Anyway, a lot of celtic fans are not scottish - I believe you are a celtic fan as well???

...and when a french player (manU captain of old?) kicked a fan at a ManU premiership match, that was to do with national bigotry was it?

That would depend upon whether or not he played for Rangers or Celtic

Exactly. Quite what a liverpool v celtic match has to do with nationalistic bigotry, I don't know. Especially when the player involved was not english

Redkop.

I don't know where you're going with this, but you seem to be headed in the direction of ANY abuse thrown around a football match!

Shows what a load of mindless chavs the fans are

Loosely speaking - yes, but I don't slate or hate the Scots - subtle difference.

Totally off topic... it's Scots and English we are talking about, other teams bigotry can be discussed another time.

Imlach, errrr where have I mentioned any other nation? I think you are slightly digressing

Errr...so why exactly did you raise the issue of a non-English liverpool player at a celtic match as an example of english hatred?

You started it
